First logo panel is up on the scoreboard

What kind of material is on the backside of the scoreboard emblazoned with the huge I-State logo?

maybe this has been asked/answered before, but i would thing we could use something similar to that to "wrap" the support beams in and just do a cardinal and gold theme on?

it would kill 2 birds with 1 stone-eliminate potential scoreboard climbers, and also give a more aesthetically pleasing look to the scoreboard as a whole.

It's a metal sheeting from what I could tell. It's got slats on the back almost like the siding on someones house (only vertically instead of horizontally).

Could we use the old board to augment the new board, so the new HD board would do all the videos, and the old board when taken apart and added to the sides could display the advertisements and stats. Then the logo panels could just be pushed all the way out to cover the vertical supports and/or shrink them down a little.

This all depends on if they are really plan on moving the old board to the other facility.

I hope that made sense.

You do know that the logos are going to cover a massive upgraded sound system right? There is no way they are going to extend the video protion out the supports.

I'm sure they will put some ads on the old board but I bet sponsors will be spending more money to get their ads on the big board.

Well i'm a idiot and cant post a pic., but in the renderings of the video board they was two formats the screen would display. One where the whole screen was showing a replay and a 2nd where there were ads along both sides and the replay screen was shrunk down to accommodate space for the ads/stats.

What I was trying to say is use the old to augment the new. When the old video board is taken down its done in pieces, put those pieces on either side of the new HD board to run the ads/stats. So that the replays can always take up the whole HD screen.

I do know that behind the logos are the speakers, i get it:yes:. just saying if the pieces (or strips) of the old board was added to the sides, it would push out the logo boards 10'? or 15'? whatever size the pieces of the old video board are, separate.

I'm going to get some people really worked up with this next question...

Are they going to display the game score, clock, and timeouts left on the new board or just on the old one? If they are going to do it on the new one, that will leave even less space for actual video.

I see they decided to change the text from "Jack Trice Stadium" in this artist's representation to "Cyclones" in the actual product, for underneath the logos.

IMHO I think it looks better that they changed the front of the video board from "Jack Trice Stadium" to "Cyclones". The back side still says "Jack Trice Stadium" which I think that works great from looking outside in.

I'm sorry, without reading every post what is the latest with covering the steel legs with brick or something? I think we will be in awe when we see it for the first time.

The score, clocks, and timeouts left are pretty small piece of the puzzle don't you think?

You'd think some people just want to watch the game on the video board instead of looking at the field in front of you. What fun is that?

I think the logo covers look great and for some reason the video screen looks bigger now too. I love it and can't wait to see and hear it in action. People forget to think how big of an upgrade the sound system alone will be. Game day should be rocking!

Here's a question that I haven't seen answered: Will the board have a roof? Right now, there's no covering on the top of the board. And, there are no "sides" closing off the supports from the crossbar area. I just can't imagine that they would let the snow and rain in on all those electronics. I stopped by the stadium today and with the sun shinging in the top and sides, you can really see into that speaker area.

Nope, nothing whatsoever, in fact, all the wires are completely exposed too. They want it to short out and start on fire as soon as possible.

Aren't they only going to show highlights up there, anyway?

Why go outside to watch TV? I can do that when I go home.
