First Commit

Little pre-mature in the game here.

Not really. We are the only team in the Big 12 without a committment so far. Which isn't a big deal but it is far from pre-mature

Kansas has 2 guys
KSU 5
CU 2
Neb 5
Mizzou 7
Texas 19
Okla 9
OSU 7
TT 8
A&M 3
Baylor 5

I think if we get any commits over the summer it will be from in-state guys. The out of state guys usually wait until after a visit. That's when our gameday atmosphere really does help us out.

When's the last time you saw Iowa State with a commitment this early in the game? I don't care about the rest of the B12.

Seems like we usually get a QB as our first commit. Arnaud, Bates, and Barnett were all either our first commit or very early if memory serves correct. Tiller was early as well.

Arnaud was not our first commitment in his class. We had like 3 guys commit prior to him (but only by a couple days.)

I think Iowa is close to getting a couple commits, so it made me wonder how close we might be. And I think the WR from Nebraska is a good possibility. Same with the OL from Cherokee, as were his only offer.

You said the talk is pre-mature. How so? We have had camps, we have extended offers, and every other school (I agree doesn't matter) has received a commit. So why is it pre-mature for us to talk about it?

Premature because I don't see us landing a commitment until June at the earliest. I may be surprised though.

Anything is possible. Especially with some visiting the Spring game this weekend.

Agree. It is not premature to guess at the first commit with the Spring Game this weekend.

CPR seemed to have his class put together last year well ahead of any of Dan's 12 or Gene's 2.

It definitely has been our history to be a "late bloomer" compared to our Big 12 brethren and Iowa, but CPR seems to have it incrementally heading in the direction of getting commitments earlier than last 2 weeks. Maybe this will continue as he settles in.

It's not too premature. But camps are in June. We'll see some commits then, but possibly before.
