At the half the sideline reporter noted that Rhoads was not happy with the first half playcalling. Sounds like coach is of a similar opinion...
This needs to be highlighted...
Rhoads himself at halftime said we needed to be calling better plays.
He also said he was pleased with Barnett's play in the first half....not sure what game he was watching. Total TEAM loss.
Mess has improved greatly as the season has progressed. But he cant make Barnett not miss the reciever by ten yards. Or make the recievers not have stone hands.
Absolutely. The team lost this gameHe also said he was pleased with Barnett's play in the first half....not sure what game he was watching. Total TEAM loss.
This isn't on playcalling or the QBs. Fact is Tiller killed the most important drive in the first half when after a fumble he dropped a catchable ball and then took a knee a yard short of a first down. And Young killed the most important drive in the second half (the only one we moved the ball) dropping a perfect pass from JB on 2nd and 15 that would have put us inside their 30.
Woody dropped Jantz first shovel pass and Steele couldn't get rolling he made 2 awful decisions after that.
This wasn't that bad a blowout. But the WRs were terrible apart from Horne with the RBs just as bad if not worse. And Lenz was nowhere to be seen was he hurt?
Everyone knows that firing a first year coordinator after his struggles makes everything better. That's why we fired Wally after his second year and the disasters versus Oklahoma and Utah, oh wait.... (sarcasm, for those of you that are confused)
That was in year 2 with a junk Dline, sophomore LBers, and a mediocre backfield. We are in year four with experience almost everywhere, some good RBs and whether anyone wants to believe it or not, decent receivers. There is no ******* reason in the world that West has touched the ball 13 times this year. That is inexcusable especially when the staff knows what he can do and has said so in the past. There's no reason Nealy hasn't played more and judging by what he has done when given opportunity, there's no reason Bundrage hasn't been playing a lot more and targeted downfield.
Obviously, this is post game lunatics but I will say I'm not sure that Messingham should be a BCS level coordinator. We took an excellent position coach and promoted him to play caller. Our QBs have not developed under his direction.
Tony Franklin was a name we heard a lot when we were looking to get a new OC. Here are his stats at Louisiana Tech.
