FINALLLY!!!!........... JT ROCK.........

It will be interesting to see his development through HS. He has a long time to put on muscles and skills before he comes to Ames. Unfortunately, if he shows a lot of improvement, the blue bloods with the big bags of cash will be coming to visit him. So far TJ has been able to mostly hold on to guys (Hunter) , but the money that is being thrown at some of these kids is insane.

I bet the freshman center man success rate, in the Big 12 is pretty low, unless you are a 5 star. Low the commitment. Bigs need time to be major contributors. Another Osun next season is what the doctor is ordering.

I was thinking maybe Brad Dudek from back in my day. So I googled him, and learned that he passed on 6 months ago. I had no idea...
I’m sad to hear that. I remember seeing him around campus back when I was there. He was kinda hard to miss! I always got the impression that he was a pretty good guy. Too bad he couldn’t stay healthy when he was at ISU.

Funny story about him. He came to my elementary school one day and since I was the shortest kid in class, they had me stand next to him for comparison. No joke, I barely cleared his knee.

Tyler Peterson from Washington, Iowa back in the mid-1990s was listed at over 7'0". Was behind Cato & Tony Rampton on the depth chart. A gentle giant, he transferred to UNI and played a couple of years in Europe after college. It is hard to imagine Iowa State having 3 players at 6'11" and above at the same time.

Chris Alexander was supposed to be our next stud big guy and flames out after 4 games and went back to Illinois and never played again. He was 7’1

I remember Tyler Peterson. Actually met him in Washington, Iowa when I lived there. Kind of had an underwhelming career at Iowa State. Highly rated for his size. Hope Rock is as good as advertised and can play the grind of Division 1 ball.

LOL, the CF hype train will be predicting the final four, the 1st loss everyone should be benched, TJ has lost his mojo and we need to hire a new assistant to bring back more intensity. blah,blah,blah,........blah,blah, blah rinse and repeat.
That you clonedude?

I’m getting Baylor vibes from when Scott Drew took them from below nothing and then all of a sudden started landing elite players.

From the outside looking in I’m sure a lot of non-ISU peeps are baffled by his recruiting success and wondering how the hell this is possible.

In the past when ISU would have a top class it would usually fall apart (read:Tim Floyd) or we’d have 1, 4 or borderline 5-star and the rest solid but not heralded players or diamonds in the rough to fill out the class. Looks like those days are gone.

ISU will make a Final Four (or a few) before TJ is gone and, I think, a National Championship. The talent and coaching are so good now I believe it’s unavoidable.

Just an A+++ job. I can’t believe it.
I’m scared to get too excited. Don’t want a feeling like our football team that returned almost everyone from the fiesta bowl
I don't mind drinking the koolaid but am with you, and want to pump the brakes a bit. I think it takes quite a bit of sustained building, a lot of good players, and a little luck to go all the way. Nothing is automatic, or even getting close to a Final 4. Yet.

Yes, the football team is fresh on my mind. Also, the yearly hype of the O-Line, etc.
Not 6'10" do not.......wait how tall?
7'-0", too tall... Do not...wait. We can make room!

Next year we will be really young, after being really, really old for a few years. I don't want to put undue pressure on these guys but they have the pieces now to win the conference and make a deep run in the tourney, I truly believe that.
It would be really nice if any/all of them could come early. It seems like it benefits the young guys a lot, especially on the defensive side...
