Just tuned in for about 5 minutes in the first half in which Sweden dominated, and then came back and turned it on right as the US heded a ball off their own goal post that dang near gave Sweden the lead.
I hate soccer, but that was an entertaining finish. Too bad the end is a tie.
Would have liked the win, but the tie helps us more than it helps Sweden. On paper we have the easier opponent left. If the game plays out like the paper would suggest, we should win the group and Sweden and Australia are fighting for second. Then again, Nigeria forced a draw of Sweden and Sweden just held us to a scoreless tie (for those that like to play the transitive property game).

The reffing has been absolutely atrocious for multiple games. I'm not saying it's because the refs are all women, but I just said it. Gave Thailand 2 goals yesterday on painfully obvious offside calls that weren't made, and they missed a clear penalty in a game earlier where a defender just grabbed the ball and held it for a few seconds in the box.
The only game I've watched where I thought the ref was good was NIG vs SWD. On the pre match show a few days ago they were complaining about the refs and said there was only one US ref which is stupid. I'm not saying every ref should be from the US but one of the top countries can only get one ref into the world cup? Also mixing and matching each ref crew is so freaking stupid. No continuity.
USA has outright owned Nigeria in the first half - surprising it's only 1-0, on a Rapinoe corner Wambach put in the back of the net right before the half.
Gotta stay on the attack. Nigeria doesn't seem to play the best defense, but they've shown in earlier games they can score.
Round of 16 game vs Colombia tonight.
