Armed Forces Bowl is a Big 12 bowl in even years (First Responder Bowl in odd years). 11 a.m. on NYE.

It's a spot that's rarely been filled due to lack of available Big 12 teams, but with the requirements waived I assume a Big 12 team will definitely get taken.

Time to make multiple reservations!

What is the Big 12 pecking order (after the Playoffs)? I can only find sites with the pecking order from last year. Here is my guess:

Alamo
Texas (Houston)
Liberty
Cheez-It (Orlando now)
SERVPRO (Dallas)

At-large options: Fiesta, Peach, Cotton.

We probably won't go to Alamo, Liberty, or Orlando as we have done so recently. Thus, I think I will book flights for Fiesta, Texas, and Cotton.

Should be the same as the last few years. San Antonio, Orlando, Houston, Memphis, Phoenix, Fort Worth.

Damn, so if we make it to the Cotton Bowl we STILL haven't been in a New Year's Day bowl.

We probably won't go to Alamo
I disagree. The Alamo Bowl would love to have Iowa State back. It's not like it would be back to back years in San Antonio. ISU fans really showed up and impressed the Alamo. The pandemic will obviously keep the numbers down this year but, whatever number of fans the bowl will allow, ISU fans will travel and meet or exceed that.

However, if OU doesn't make the Cotton Bowl, I could see the Alamo taking the Sooners because this year would be a pretty rare chance for them to get Oklahoma.

So what kind of Tickets will these bowls be able to sell. Seems like it might be a year that Cyclone Club Points/Status might be very important.

And what the local governments look like in the bowl city. Honestly, if your looking to really want to get to a bowl this year to cheer on the boys, you might want to root for us to be in the Texas Bowl.

I am amazed that no more than two bowls (Holiday and new Fenway) have packed it in this year. I guess they have a commitment from all these others that they plan to proceed? Some of these bowls are going to lose a lot of money this year.

Maybe if they hold on to their corporate sponsors and are getting TV money, they can limp by.

Hawaii, Bahamas and RedBox (Santa Clara, CA) have also been scratched.
