FBS Bowl Schedule Released...

With fan restrictions probably in place it'll probably come down a lot more to keeping the tv partner happy than fan turnout. That may edge towards Texas with its bigger audience.
I do think we would get the Alamo Bowl with a loss in CCG, I don’t think we would jump Texas if they play in the championship, they want the best matchup and the tv eyeballs

Agree, I think if we don't get to the Big 12 Title Game that we will end up in the Texas Bowl (Houston)

Matt Campbell becomes "America's Coach" on Friday!

Bowls line up for the Cyclones because of demand from fans all over the country.

ESPN owns and operates ~16 bowl games, including most of what would be considered the "minor" bowls. They can rely on ad revenue and not have to worry about ticket sales.

Yeah, I understand that but with bowls (at least in pre-COVID times) requiring schools to buy a minimum of tickets, it'd seem like the numbers wouldn't add up. Some of these bowl games have some pretty meager TV audiences. Obviously, some bean-counters have crunched the numbers so we'll have bowl football.

As a kid, I thought the bowl games were the creme de creme. Now, I would take a fall game day atmosphere in Ames vs a Big 12 opponent. Bowl games , meh.

True, when I was a kid teams had to be at least 7 and 4 to make a bowl game. Now, 6 and 6 is good enough. Too many bowl games now. The honor and luster is not there like it was 30 plus years ago.
