You can find a lot of the requirements for these positions on each Agency website. There were some things that stuck out for me when I was researching Federal positions. The FBI want accounting degrees. The DEA want at least a 3.0 GPA and experience. The CIA want foreign languages besides spanish. The U.S. Marshal's want a certain body fat percentage (under 7% I believe).
I am working toward getting on somewhere in the Central Iowa area to get experience and then possibly move to DCI in a few years. Every officer I spent time with on my internship last fall said that experience in the field is key to moving to the upper levels. You have to put time in on patrol before moving up to investigations etc.

Experience is the most important thing right now. Federal law jobs are hard to come by now a days, so get a degree in about anything, get a local job and get as much training and experience as possible. Oh and be prepared, the process takes years to get a fed spot, several months for local jobs. Good luck.
