FBI/CIA/DEA etc

1) have a huge inferiority complex
2) it helps to be a natural *******, but sometimes its a learned trait
3) be the reason people say "common sense isn't so common"
4) hate everything

You can find a lot of the requirements for these positions on each Agency website. There were some things that stuck out for me when I was researching Federal positions. The FBI want accounting degrees. The DEA want at least a 3.0 GPA and experience. The CIA want foreign languages besides spanish. The U.S. Marshal's want a certain body fat percentage (under 7% I believe).

I am working toward getting on somewhere in the Central Iowa area to get experience and then possibly move to DCI in a few years. Every officer I spent time with on my internship last fall said that experience in the field is key to moving to the upper levels. You have to put time in on patrol before moving up to investigations etc.

I am a federal agent.....don't waste your time with a Criminal Justice degree (it seems everyone has one of them). Foreign languages are always a plus. Let me know if you have any questions.

Experience is the most important thing right now. Federal law jobs are hard to come by now a days, so get a degree in about anything, get a local job and get as much training and experience as possible. Oh and be prepared, the process takes years to get a fed spot, several months for local jobs. Good luck.

Then it sounds to me like you need to buddy up to ol' T-Bone. Take your classes, make sure he gets re-elected, and you're in like Flynn.
If you've been paying attention to the news lately, the trooper I have connections with was the one who was driving Branstads SUV going 85 in that whole incident
