What do you think of "THE LOOK" of the learning center from Beach up top -- check out all the marketing pics!!!The other reason why it doesn't make sense is that ISU is going to want to show this building off. Why would you possibly put it in between the IPF and that hill where no one can see it?
I agree with your pic, but I would move the building further south and hack off that little entryway to the IPF. That entry is out of place and looks tacky anyway.
Is it too early to start ******** about how it looks?![]()
I was at the CR Tailgate Tour.
Pollard said the facility would include locker rooms, offices, and a weight room. Players will walk through tunnel to Jack Trice. Goes to BoR in June.
John Walters said "He knows the south endzone will be done someday because of the great support the fans give the program."

So the opponents locker room would be where ISU's locker room is now?
I really just hope they factor in the wind for the underground tunnel. I don't want to see the same mistake twice.

I've posted this idea a few times, and think it's perfect given we're the Cyclones. Put a storm door at the base of the hill from the underground tunnel. That way you can still have a hill there for "seats", and would become one of the most badass team entrances in the nation.

For only having 16 post, that was written like a pro!On top of that, I haven't heard any confirmations that the wind load calculations and bolt size analysis have been completed. After the complete failure on the new scoreboard, I hope this is considered, or Fred Hoiberg could be on the hot seat.

I like that idea and they have nothing cast in stone. How to be unique and make a new stand-out statement??yeah, coming out of a cellar every game would be a great idea for us..
No matter what you think about the look of the scoreboard or the look of this new building, you have to be excited about this progress.
When Pollard came on board they came out with the Facilities Master Plan. The upgrades that have taken place under his watch are much different than the original plans, but they are great and much needed. IMO, the original master plan was the best case scenario and we just don't have enough money to complete that exactly as originally planned, and I'm fine with that.
Let's keep fighting and get that south end zone enclosed.
They'll probably use A-50K psi CorTan steel and 4,000 psi concrete with steel reinforcing to construct the tunnel. Will they be integrating a smoke system and self deploying inflatable helmet from this tunnel? Or can they build a machine that spits out little tornados from the tunnel?
I did see a tweet about the wind load calculations and bolt size analysis already being completed. However, due to budget constraints they had to pass on the walkway surface analysis and the tunnel height analysis. The players will now be entering the field through a 5 foot high tunnel with a walkway of glass shower tile.
