Whoa

“We are disappointed Noah will not be finishing the season with his teammates,” said Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz.
Not whoa
"“We are disappointed Noah will not be finishing the season with his teammates. He is a tremendous athlete and we wish him the best as he pursues his goal of playing in the NFL.”

Prior to Butt's injury, he was projected to be picked near the top of the second round, which would have grossed about $4 million in guaranteed money. As the first pick in the fifth round, Butt will receive about $380,000 in guaranteed money.

Jake Butt likely would have carried a first-round grade had he not suffered a torn right ACL in Michigan's bowl game in January.

With the $543,000 of tax-free insurance money equated to about $900,000 that is taxed, that means the Orange Bowl injury cost Butt around $2.8 million.

What if he would have had 15 catches for 210 yards in the Orange Bowl... could have made himself a few million bucks. Can look at it two ways.

+ Imagine if all the 1st / 2nd round 'Bama players decided to sit out how that would alter the playoffs.

+ Do you all think this might bleed over into basketball? What if the DOOK players sat out the NCAA tourney?

I don't think you can compare the playoffs/ncaa tourny to say the Holiday Bowl

Why would the top 1st rounders on Alabama want to risk injury for college playoff games? Are they getting paid in these playoff games? What if they get hurt and they don't get drafted? They should think of themselves. They don't owe their teammates anything. I think most of the Alabama 1st/2nd rounders should just sit out. Heck, sit out the Georgia game. If their goal is to make millions in the NFL, who gives a **** about an SEC title? Same with Georgia, Clemson and Notre Dame. Why are their studs risking their careers for stupid college games?

you know, I think any player interested in getting drafted this year should just sit out bowl season.

I can't believe those guys who play in the All Star games. What are they thinking? They could get hurt.

crazy world. crazy world.

The answer to your second question is probably “Yes”.

Maybe, but I doubt it. It all comes down to the combine mostly. NFL isn't worried about stats for the most part. Right or wrong, just the way they do business.

That's definitely a "WHOA" thing to say

Lazard was passed over for a couple of LSU WR's that had a couple hundred yards in college, so stats mean almost nothing.
