F1 2023 Discussion

This is the 3rd race in a row where Carlos finished ahead of Charles. For whatever reason Charles is struggling right now.
If by struggling you mean he had 1 bad qualifying in the Netherlands compared to Sainz. The last 2 grand prix he has been back by .067, and then .079 seconds.

Did you watch the race? His teams strategy was to sacrifice him to protect sainz win. it is no surprise he lost to Sainz this race. He spent the whole first part of the race purposely driving slower than sainz to give him a buffer. They kept radioing him to tell him what gap in time to sainz they wanted, and it kept getting bigger. So they could keep the field bunched up so no one could do the undercut on him.

Charles is currently 19 points behind Carlos so I think it's safe to say he's not having a great year. Part of that is because he's had to retire the car 3 times compared to once for Carlos.

Sounds like it's Yuki and Ricciardo getting those the Alpha Tauri seats. Thought for sure Lawson would get one of them, he's really impressed me so far.

I think long term Lawson get's the second Red Bull Behind Max. That is my guess. I think Red Bull has a plan. I know the common thought is Danny Ric but I think Danny is going to stay with Alpha and provide leadership to the young driver's and give Lawson the Red Bull when Perez becomes a free agent.

In my opinion the only way Danny Ric gets his old RBR seat again is if Checo just says he's tired of Helmut Marko's crap and just retires. Lawson has definitely impressed with how he's handled that Alpha Tauri and unless something crazy happens I think he's going to be replacing Checo in a couple years.

Even though Max has the best car. Mclaren and Mercedes think they have a chance because they have two sets of hard tires and Red Bull only have one. Should be interesting since their is a tire problem with the track and the heat

I hate how I have 3 spoilers from my ESPN app notification when I wake up for these overnight races.

I turn notifications off on everything, so at least I don't get that. F1 TV's two thumbnails were Albon airborne, and then Max. So you know right away who's involved in a big wreck and it's likely Max won. It happens with the practices and qualifying too. I wish they'd use something generic for 24 hours.
