Also Sargent is gone right? I feel like Williams would have a lot of patience with him in almost any scenario except for the one they are in now, where he's never really competitive with Albon and more often than not wrecks the car.

Who takes that seat?

Kind of figured that’s what they were going to do. I would not be shocked to see them drop Yuki in two years and go hard after Lando . It would be a crazy lineup to have

Max and Lando in the Red Bulls
Lawson and possibly Danny Ric in the Alpha (whatever the team name will be)

Sargent is basically doing the same thing to Williams that Mick did to Haas. Williams will have an up and comer take that spot is my guess

It felt like Sargent got a vote of confidence in early August, but he's been shockingly bad the past few weeks and making a change seems likely now.

Lawson or Mick. I hope it's Lawson, i can't STAND Mick and his fans. Literally just coasting on his name. Kevin came in and OWNED him last year. Notice how Haas, while not competitive, has not had a car split in half...

Mick won Formula 2 and 3 championships, assisted by his name for sure, but it's not like he never performed.

Agree with the above. Not sure what Williams budget is, but Sarget is costing them so much extra with all his wrecks. Can't be good on the team moral to fix a car every weekend either.

I think it was during qualifying where Vowles was their Principal they talked to live and it sounded like they were already moving on because of it. He said it diplomatically but the tl;dr sounded like Sargent has been using old parts because they prioritized development over spending a lot of money building more of their newest parts for his repairs.

A month ago I would have said Sargent was safe for a year because he was their guy, not somebody elses like Mick was a Ferrari academy drive that go stuck in the Haas. Now I'm not so sure where he ends up. He may still get another year because other than Mick who's out there to take that seat. I can't imagine Red Bull lets Lawson race for Williams and I'm not sure they take a chance on another F2 driver if they send Sargent packing.

Eventually I see Sargent ending up in an Indycar like all the other Americans that have tried to make it work in F1. One of these days we'll get a good American driver to stick but the deck is really stacked against them.

Wonder if Williams will take a shot with Alex Palou since everyone else except Mick are locked up now it would be a wise for them to take a chance in my opinion

I'd rather just get some vet who you know won't crash the car. Sign Grosjean for a year or something.

I’m not sure Grosjean is the guy you turn to if you want someone to take care of the car. You can attribute some of his past errors to being in a ****** car but that’s what he would be in again.

Palou could be an interesting one but that would be pretty tough to jump from a winning car to what's at best a mid field car. Herta to Alpha Tauri made more sense to me last year since there is potentially a path to get into the RBR car there. I'm not sure where you go from Williams right now unless you think Hamilton is ready to retire in a couple years or you think they're going to get rid of George.

Not sure either but there could be some opportunities next year
