F*CK IOWA

Well you guys could do us a solid a get ranked every once in awhile.
Lol, good luck at 6-6 and 7-5 from here on out. Iowa is gonna fall now. No more 10 win season because you didn't play Michigan or Ohio State. More real teams are coming. Iowa loses to Michigan, Ohio State, PSU, Washington, Oregon and USC would beat Iowa. Iowa's offense would only get 13 points against UCS defense. Iowa feasted on being slightly better than and getting the breaks compared to the West. Bye bye West.

Playing a New B10 average schedule, Iowa has a hard 8 win ceiling going forward. This is more than likely the last conference title game they’ll see unless someone can **** out a stable’s worth of horseshoes.

Time will tell but I’m guessing it’ll be harder. I don’t see Wisconsin, Nebraska and MSU underperforming indefinitely. There’s only so many wins to go around though.

And yes, the West has been awful the past two years. Prior to that, though, they usually had 2 to 3 good to really good teams every year.
Nebraska hasn’t been to a bowl game since 2016.

Say it in your mind again.

TWENTY SIXTEEN

That’s a Psuedo Premier Program in the Mighty Big Ten west.

Can’t even muster 6 wins…….or 5 if you have academics like Minny-HaHa this season and sneak in the back door.

The Big Ten west has been garbage for many many many years.

At least my Hok friend admits it and says “yes the Big Ten West sucks. we play who we play. Can’t help it.”

Be a good Hok and admit it like my friend does.

It will free your soul.

I think most fans know that they had a fortunate schedule and I’ve even admitted as much. What else do you want?
I want you to face the reality that you'll actually have to learn to live with heartache and failure of multiple years of football disappointment like the other B1G schools like Northwestern, Purdue, Minnesota, Illinois have had to struggle with for 40 + years. You have a whole generation of fans that have believed they've been better than they actually have been in reality since the B1G split into divisions. At least the generation of Hayden Fry teams were legit good most years and won without this division split that has been gifted to KF.
Most of your fans don't remember the 60s and 70s of pathetic Iowa football. At least those fans could better appreciate what HF did to turn it around in the 80s
This generation of Squawk fans has never had to endure multiple years of failure like it's other B1G brethren. Look no further to what Nebraska is going through now. They have been humbled from what they once were. Their successes are few and far between.
You want to know what people want IAHawks??? This is what they want Hawk fans to endure. A long case of humility with their football program like everyone else has had to endure. You've been spoiled and now it's time for others to watch your program go into the shitter for awhile.

Last night actually went better than I expected. Glad y’all enjoyed it as well.

A bad Michigan punt and good field position. I don't know exactly what else went better. What.......the score? A 10 point deficit to a team like Michigan might as well be 50 for Iowa.

We turned it FSU/Louisville at that point because everyone knew the outcome was no longer in doubt.

2 final thoughts on that B1G "championship" game.

1. If you are the commissioner you have to be partying like heck today knowing that you know longer have to suffer with a team from the west division in your title game. It's like hosting a beauty pageant every year with one kind-of-hot girl and a bunch of the ugliest chicks on earth. What an embarrassment to your league year after year.

2. If you are a rational Iowa fan or their AD watching last night, how can you possibly be proud? It's like a 4 hour infomercial to the entire country that screams to potential recruits, "We have a coach who needs to retire and you will never be in a productive offensive system, but come here and try to win 9 or 10 games by scoring as few points as possible and hoping your opponents make more mistakes than you."

But Michigan really didn't have to open it up, because they knew the EIU was never going to score. So, they could play conservative on offense. The punt return was the play of the game, once Michigan was ahead 10 to 0 the game for Michigan became do not turn it over and give EIU an easy score. They never could get away playing like that against Penn. State or Ohio State, because they knew those teams were going to score points so they had to take chances and open up the offense. They knew EIU couldn't and were more than willing to slug it out after they got the lead and settle for field goals.
Michigan isn’t a high powered offense so that was just the way they usually go play. They didn’t go conservative.

It went about as I expected. The game was never in doubt, even at half with the score 10-0. Michigan knew all they had to do was not make any mistakes. Once they were up a couple scores, Michigan would play conservatively knowing Iowa won’t be able to drive the ball down the field to score.

Earlier in this thread I predicted a 24-3 final score with Michigan going “Penn State” mode in the second half. The last part wasn’t quite true, but the point remained that Michigan would play conservatively with a lead

Yep. The hapless Hawks were never a threat. But they will still whine and moan about getting jobbed by the refs.

The Moon Family Cud Chewer in Chief will probably be making passive aggressive comments about that next year while making his famous constipated face.

If only the refs wouldn't have given Michigan the ball on that "so-called fumble" Iowa would have had a chance. That was the turning point of the game right there.

I don't really need a jimlad, do I?

Agreed I was actually surprised how little Michigan ran the ball. When they did run they couldn't. Nobody has stopped Michigan up front like that all year. Kudos to the defense.
