I don't think this has been discussed yet, but Pollard really exemplified why he is a good AD with this bowl situation: His conversations with the Liberty Bowl got us the spot over Louisiana Tech. That's a sign of a great AD that I don't think many would have done (read: JVDV)

He sold the Clones, and now is doing more with cyclones.tv

Think about what a great recruiting pitch it is to say "We are only one of 3 teams nationally with a devoted television network!" Great work Jamie!

Great AD! A great fit for the University and obviously has big dreams for the athletic department. The Cyclones.tv announcement is one step closer to the next set of facility updates for the school, not to mention contract extensions for our top coaches (although most of that is already set for a while.)

Cyclone.tv is huge and a big step for our Athletic Department. So happy we're not stuck in Shreveport this year. Pollard has been an amazing AD, especially the last week.

Pollard is a great AD, no doubt about it.

Though, I hope that it didn't take too much hard work to convince Liberty Bowl to select us over LaTech.

It may only be Mediacom, but it's still probably more tv sets then the Longhorn Network! :wideeyed:

Definitely in the right direction. The Mediacom deal is short term.... we have to take the small steps to take bigger ones.

Anyone catching him on Murph and Andy now? Man, I appreciate him as a person and as an AD. If you need to, go listen to the podcast.

Safe travels to vb team heading to CA. Also sending band & spirit squad to support team even though NCAA doesn't fund it (extra $75,000).
Thought this was great

He is kicking *** lately, seriously.

The deal with Mediacom is just his most recent example, we are getting more and more exposure for no additional cost or headache. The new football building is awesome. I like him because he doesn't always give the politically correct answer, he connects well with people.

I just hope when Alvarez retires, they don't poach him....I can see it happening though.

So, I don't know much how bowl selection works. How close were the Cyclones to not getting into a bowl this year? Was that much of a possibility?

I know he started at Wisconsin, but can anyone tell me what other connections he has to Wisconsin? I truly don't know. Is he a graduate from school or his wife a graduate or anything? Everyone always talks about him going to Wisconsin after Alvarez retires, but if his only connection is he started there, I still like our chances of keeping him in that case.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't JP do all of this (and do it damn well I might add) and at the same time still have a pretty ill son?
