Now that we have a coach. We have a feeling for which players are going to be here. What are you expectations for this football team in 2009?

Without Coordinators there is obviously room for some changes but we have a base to start.

Honestly, I'll go back to my prediction for this past season, 4 or 5 wins.

What I really want to see is some good X's and O's. We haven't had that in a long time.

Everything depends on the defensive line, pure and simple. The offense will score, we know that.

The defensive line was the downfall in 2008. There was one poster on this board that argued before the season started against me that the d-line was deep and that guys that had not seen the field previously would do well. The same poster said the d-line should be ok next year too with more guys that have not seen the field. If I am PR, I am hitting the JC's hard for DT's with a pulse....

staying out of this one. burned way to many times.

Too many times, I've gone down our schedule for football and picked 6 or 7 wins to only get 2 to 3. Same with basketball 20+ wins to get 15.

However, I'm going 5 wins. Nothing unreachable but I'm also calling for an upset victory in the big 12 and a road win.

well we can't do as bad as last year i hope. im thinking along the lines of 4-5 wins. 2 of those wins being in the big 12

I think 5 wins would be a good start, fitting for PR to equal Sleazik's win total in his first season. Anything more is just gravy. I like gravy.

If you sit down and actually take a look at the schedule, there is no reason to expect less than four wins, and I personally expect to go to a bowl at 6-6 or 7-5 next season. We return our offense next season. Our first five games can be won.

I predicted 4-5 wins this past season. I was off a little. I'll go with the same prediction for the upcoming season, although it's way too early. And yes, the defense will make the difference.

I hope that if the roster stays intact the players want to win to spite their coach that abandoned them. Use that as motivation and embrace Rhoads system 100%. I think we have a lot of nice pieces at the skill positions that not only are stepping up as leaders but play for the team and this university and it's fans. The next few weeks will be real telling about who is onboard with I-State.

I'm thinking 4 or 5 wins, anything would be better than the last 2 seasons right now. Less chaos on the sidelines getting the plays called in and more discipline on both sides of the ball to cut down on stupid penalties will go a long ways too.

Wins - NDSU, Iowa, Kent State, Army, Kansas State, Baylor

Toss-ups: Texas A&M, Colorado

Possible upsets: Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska

Overmatched completely: Oklahoma State

If Rhoads is a good gameday coach and puts a good game plan together there is a good chance they can win 7 games. If not they will win 4 games.
