ESPN Baseball Announcers

I do not mind Phillips, I just cannot stand Joe Morgan as far as ESPN announcers go. Joe Morgan always talks about his "Big Red Machine" and nothing is ever as good as that team was. I am pretty indifferent as far as John Miller goes. One thing I noticed is how long they will dwell on one play for a couple of innings when they just need to drop it and move on.
 
Did Joe Morgan play for the Reds? He never mentions it...

Only announcer I can think of that is worse then Morgan has to be Gumble trying to do NFL games.

Tim McCarver was pretty bad this weekend. It's tough for a guy to step and cover (2) clubs he has not spent much time with; however, he's been sucking consistently for the past decade and needs to hang it up.

Unfortunately, Joe Buck has to put with him.

I'm not a cubs fan, but Ronny is great and try to tune into WGN radio when I'm out driving or the cubs/cards are playing.
 
yea i much rather watch games on FSN HD vs fox or espn Dan and Al much better announcers and of course gotta love Mike Shannon on the radio.
 
Joe Morgan and Phillips were brutal last night, almost as bad as IMO the worst team Fernando Vina and Eric Young on Baseball Tonight.

Those are the only two I can't stand. Other ones I can stand.

Bingo I like Dan and Al the best, and it gets really interesting when shannon gets drunk on the radio:biglaugh:
whenever the game is on espn and fsn its always fsn for me

Thats a total hawkeye crap argument and you should be ashamed of yourself for even stooping so low.

The crappy announcer debate concerning ESPN and FOX has been going on for years. It has nothing to do with 1 game.Its a legit point that is talked about by lots of fans of many teams.

I agree with everything except for the word 'debate.' I think we've all pretty much agreed that the announcers stink.
 
I remember as a kid watching a game and hearing Harry Caray ask if it's nickel beer inning yet, and asking someone to go get him a few. Don't think it was meant to go over the air, and like he has to wait for nickel beer inning.
 
I never have cared for Morgan. He never seems to have a good thing to say about the Cubs. The rest of the guys aren't too bad.
 
Morgan lost any tiny bit of respect I had for him I had when a few years ago he went out of his way to make sure the Veterans committee didn't vote in Ron Santo.
Total bush league move that wont be forgotten.
