Equipment Sale

I got in at 10:45 (I work night nights and have small kids so was running behind) looked around for a couple minutes then left because all the good stuff was gone. Look forward to next time and hopefully I will get there a little sooner.

OK so how many of you guys got the stuff signed? I ended up getting a pair of running back cleats individually signed by all the players (one I had the other my wife had). I also ended up with a white Nike #84 practice jersey which I had my wife get and Brun was like "Where did you get this?" Lol. It sounded like he was suprised when she told him I had thought about framing it..Said something around the lines of "People really frame this stuff? I'm honored." Well yes, to a lowly fanatic as myself it means a lot. This was my first experience at the equipment sale and fan fest and I plan to make this an annual trip down to Ames.

1 Zero Restriction SS Golf rain Jacket, 1 Zero Restriction LS Golf Insulated Jacket, 2 Sweatshirts, 4 t-shirts. $60. Prices were more expensive than 3 years ago. Question: What is the STO on the First Strike t-shirt?

I got there at 10:45 and one of the guys from the AD found a box that hadn't been set out for some reasons. Was able to grab a Booker home jersey. Deciding if I should frame it or wear it to games. It was a huge box and it seriously looked like a feeding frenzy when the guy set it down.

I'll have to day I was pretty dissapointed. All good stuff was gone very early (which was expected) I was going to get a pair of gloves but there wasn't any reciever gloves under size 2XL. There wasn't any normal sized polos or shoes. I walked away getting nothing but hopefully next year I can actually get something!

It has nothing to do with being smart. It has to do with being respectful of your fellow Cyclone fans and not trying to hoard a limited supply. I'm glad I'm not your neighbor.

I got beat up in another thread for being critical of the "fans" who buy up the game tickets and then try to sell them on this website for 3 or 4 times their face value. I'm so sick of people trying to profit by hoarding and making money at the expense of their fellow fans. I'm sure I'll get beat up on this thread, too.

I wish you were in an alley right now so I could punch you in da FACE!!!! :arghh:

The sorting thing is a bush league move. The Athletic Dept. should have somebody there next year and if someone pulls this tell them they have to purchase everything in the box or bag. I've got no problem if you grab as much as you can, but if you put it in your big boy box you better be willing to pay for it like a big boy. Not act like a selfish hoarder, grab everything without looking at it, and then take what ever lil' johnny wants to take because he's a little bwat!

If I were a FB coach or school administrator, I'd be snagging football pants/gloves for practice. Many nice Nike FB pants cheap!

Id be interested to hear about jerseys people got that were there early.

I got in at 11:00 and was walking through, but everything was pretty picked over by then. I was in the back corner and a AD guy was cleaning up the empty boxes. Knowing that nothing was left for me to buy, I helped him pick up boxes quick to get them out of the way while my brother shopped (he's a big dude so he had a shopping frenzy). Anyway, I reached down to pick up a flipped upside down box and sure enough there was a #3 away jersey underneath it.

I snagged that up and as I was checking out, the lady at the check out table had a small pile of clothes and jackets behind her table, I asked her why they were there and she said people would grab piles of anything and then wait to check the sizes when they were checking out. She said it was all free game and I was able to find a few jackets and nice nike shirts in my size in that pile, so overall it turned out alright.
