Equipment Sale

AD doesn't care how much whoever buys. They just want to sell it. If you weren't smart enough to bring a trashbag, box, or whatever then that's on you and you alone.

....and no, I was not there.

Its not that big of deal to me, I have plenty. But i am sure more than a few people came early and waited, and there were plenty of jerseys but 3 or so people had already shoved them into a giant box to sort through on their own, they didn't even plan to buy them all, just buy time to look through them. I am sure the AD doesn't care, but it would be great if people were not complete a-holes to the rest of the line of people. I have been to a lot of AD sales, and this was a first.

Walked in right at 10:30 and couldn't get a hold of any jerseys (or maybe they were hiding somewhere). The first guy I saw in there though had about 10-15 football jerseys in his arms. Should have come earlier I guess.

I ended up just getting two practice basketball jerseys. Numbers 30 and 11. (Whether they were Royce and Scotty's who knows, but either way I liked the significance of the numbers).

As someone said earlier though, this thing is great for anyone looking for 2X+ clothing. My girlfriend got her father some real nice stuff for under $15 bucks each.

It has nothing to do with being smart. It has to do with being respectful of your fellow Cyclone fans and not trying to hoard a limited supply. I'm glad I'm not your neighbor.

I got beat up in another thread for being critical of the "fans" who buy up the game tickets and then try to sell them on this website for 3 or 4 times their face value. I'm so sick of people trying to profit by hoarding and making money at the expense of their fellow fans. I'm sure I'll get beat up on this thread, too.

That's disappointing to hear people were "hoarding/sorting." I know the AD just wants the stuff gone, but wish some other fans (kids, etc) could at least have a chance for a jersey.

Unfortunatly, there will always be a "that guy" in about any setting.

In kicking myself for not picking up some white away FB pants, perfect "manpri" pants :-)

I saw the guy running around with trash bags a couple of times. It looked to me like he was running around scooping up targeting a lot of the Nike stuff that still had tags on it. No doubt in my mind he is going to sell all of it second hand for a nice profit.

I have no issue with snagging as much as you can, but at least make it stuff you intend to buy. Don't throw a bunch of stuff in a box/garbage bag to sort later and throw in a random pile.

I was happy with the items we came away with. The only item my wife was disappointed with not getting (volleyball jersey), they didn't have out there for sale.

That is my issue. If you are first in line and plan to buy EVERY jersey, then more power to you. But, to simply nab them all to sort through later...that's pretty sketch. Whatever, not going to lose sleep over it but I saw a LOT of people looking for jerseys early on.

Guy next to me at checkout had a box of 14 football jerseys. Was bragging in line as to how much money he going to make reselling them, it was annoying. Only thing I bought was James White's practice jersey for $5, smelled like it has been in his closet for 10 years! ;) If you needed football cleats today was the day to stock up for sure. Guess I will have to show up a bit earlier next year if I want a shot at a game jersey.

I would have told him to quit being a ******* and to let other people that actually want the jerseys buy them.

Honestly a 2 jersey per person rule would be ideal as they would still all sell...and that accomplishes both AD goals, sold gear and happy fans.

I don't know what price the jerseys were listed at, but maybe putting a cap on the total amount of the purchase would have a similar effect.

I have no problem with people reselling, but I also think the people hoarding are ********** in a setting like this.

Jerseys were $50 each.

So put a limit of, say, $150 on the total purchase. That's 2 jerseys and some misc. stuff, or 3 jerseys and nothing else.

Divides the top-shelf merch among more people, and still rewards the people at the front of the line.

The hoarding is a **** move, but this is America, not communist Russia. If they want to be a **** and make a few bucks, more power to them. I have no issue with it.

I think there could be money made on Nike gloves. $5 a pair, you'd think you could turn a profit on those.

I was able to grab a #91 away jersey, some sweatpants, a polo, and a pair of running shoes. And my my girlfriend got a track tank top as well.

Made out with a really nice pair of running shoes. Nike Air Max Pro for 25 bones. Worth over 100 easy. My wife got a few zip ups for her(softball, Golf) I got a big 12 track and fiel watch, as well as a big 12 hat.

As other have said, if you have a son that is in sports, then this is the place for you. TONS of football cleats. 20+ track shoes, a few wrestling shoes. Some girls shoes but not nearly as much. Just boxes of receiver gloves, loose football pads, face masks, etc. Also, if you are a big man, 2x-4x they have everything. Sheos, sweats, shirts etc. Will be returning next year. All totaled we spent 130.00 and I am pretty happy with the shoes alone.

By the time I got in there 10:45, all the primo stuff was picked over. I did score a cheap pair of sweatpants, a stocking cap, a couple polos, and tailgating gloves (receiver grip gloves - insulated and you'll never drop a beer) for $34.

It might help to know who's gloves they were. You might be dropping beers all day long.

What you do with shoes is between you and the shoes, but I don't know if I'd admit to my fetishes on CF.
