Ending Iowa's Dominance

-One team looked as if it was their first game of the season.
-One team gets more pumped up for this game due to their high number of Iowa born players. I'm sure both teams want to win, but this game becomes more personal for those players born in the state.
-One coach's mentor was all about winning this game every year and instilled that same focus on his successor.

Just saying.

KF’s mentor is Joe Moore.

Except wadley made those plays a lot. And the games didn't go either way, they went one way. 11-5 in tge last 16 is dominance. Unless, of course, you're arguing that the basketball rivalry is likewise not dominated by ISU using the same logic. Iowa has been dominating the rivalry since 03. No way to argue otherwise.

Actually thee CHOKE eyes have been dominating this series since 1983 and the Criner era....except of course for the 5 wins in a row that DannyMac pulled off.....I had to laugh at old and I mean OLD bob brooks who said..."I cant believe we aka chokeyes lost 5 games in a row to that ag school (refused to use our actual name) nobody loses 5 games to them"......It made my day er years like five of them boys......Go Cyclones

Exactly. I would say that ISU has dominated Iowa in basketball in the McCaffery era. Fran's 2-6 (25%) vs ISU in his career. Several incredibly close games and crazy ISU comebacks.

ISU is 3-8 in the last 11 (27%) vs Iowa in football with some incredibly close games and Iowa comebacks. It's a very, very, very similiar situation.

And Iowa fans who refuse to admit the bball dominance are as equally in denial. Doesn't mean that will hold true forever (likely won't in either sport), but that's what it is right now.

And it's crazy that lick had 1 less win in the series in 5 fewer years. Ouch.

Do you drink makers mark by chance?

He's young, he will improve a lot. Next year he will seem like a totally different player. I wish CMC would have left a back in to help block on obvious passing situations when they brought that kid in. Tough assignment for a young player playing the first game of the year.

For the record- CMC did leave a back in to (try to) help block Epenesa, and it didn’t work.

You guys don’t have a lot of Iowa kids on the roster?

Looks like you have 38 Iowa kids on the roster

How is that different from what I said? How many outside the 3-4 on Oline started? No trolling, just stating that we have several Iowa kids as walk ons but outside of one position, I can't think of any starters.

I dont think we should be judging our OL performance by how well we blocked Epinesa. Not many defensive ends that quick off the edge that we will encounter.

He looks like he'd not only start on any team in FBS*, and would play if not start for NFL teams...

Pure skill and athleticism wise he was by far and away the best player on the field last Saturday.

*Except for some reason he doesn't start for Iowa. Perhaps that is by design so Iowa fans calm down before you get all triggered..

Just pointing out there are plenty of Iowa kids on the roster. I’m sure the game has just as much meaning for the ISU players as the Iowa players. To state otherwise is just an excuse.

Not directed at you, just a general observation

This thread and the other 2,359 threads regarding the same thing is all the proof you need indicating the game is a big deal for both fanbases.
Disagree. The game is a big deal for us but a WAY bigger deal for the Hoks. Both players and fans. Isn't it strange that the Hok fans have a game this week against a totally different opponent, yet are still here today (Thursday before their next game) on CF talking about last week's game? Shouldn't they be back in their own pigsty, or at the very least over at the Panther forums? That tells you all you need to know.

Shouldn't you be at the Panther forums? It's the Thursday before the UNI game, yet you're here talking ISU? All of you Hok fans need help.

There is merit in your words, I don't go on Iowa's boards but I am guessing there isn't near as many ISU fans over on their boards as there are Iowa fans on this one.

Some are straight up sore winners, they know who they are, or are too dumb to realize it.

No matter how you slice it it is a big deal for both fanbases.
