Ending Iowa's Dominance

I agree. Play some of the guys that needed some experience and sit the rest so we don't get any injuries for our important games.

Wtf are you talking about? No interest in being there ? How so? Tell that to the defense that played their tails off? It was a 6-3 game for the better part of 3 quarters. Some people need to get a grip. Good god

What Iowa dominance are we talking about? The last two years, the game could have went either way. In fact, last year at ISU, all the Hawk fans around me were leaving the stadium. That's how over it was. Then Wadley makes a once in a million play and Iowa pulls it out.

Yay, someone else who thinks this is about the score in the last 2 cyhawk games...

Yeah, someone said in one of the Iowa threads that it's an insult to their former players to say they didn't play hard for this game, and it's an insult to ISU's all the same.

12 games leaves very little room for anyone to just cruise.

I’m guessing it’s based on final scores.

This. These guys work hard 353 days a year to play 12 three hour games. In order to achieve their goals they need to win every single one, especially when your opponent is Iowa or ISU. I'll go out on a limb and say no one who's lost to Iowa or Iowa State has ever won a national title in that season. That's not likely to happen in the future either. To claim this game isn't incredibly important to all who play is moronic.

Except wadley made those plays a lot. And the games didn't go either way, they went one way. 11-5 in tge last 16 is dominance. Unless, of course, you're arguing that the basketball rivalry is likewise not dominated by ISU using the same logic. Iowa has been dominating the rivalry since 03. No way to argue otherwise.

ISU was looking ahead to conference play. Don't be naive

-One team looked as if it was their first game of the season.
-One team gets more pumped up for this game due to their high number of Iowa born players. I'm sure both teams want to win, but this game becomes more personal for those players born in the state.
-One coach's mentor was all about winning this game every year and instilled that same focus on his successor.

Just saying.
