Domonique Orange Commits!

According the 247 guy it was really only between KU and ISU. OSU, TAM and Oregon all said they weren't recruiting him.

And supposedly he was a backup plan to Ahmad Moten.

Source - I saw a a tweet someone posted from Swain.
This is what I was wondering. I'm not a big fan of the Cliff Alexander hat switch in general; but this seems like a legitimate reason to eff with OSU so I am perfectly fine with it. Hopefully they are coming courting him to transfer in a couple years and he tells them:

How is he only listed as a 3 star guy? I didn't realize Ohio State recruited 3 star guys.

Everyone recruits "3 Stars". Not every guy that signs with a blue blood is a "5 star"... 2 of the top four classes in 2021 (on 247 sports) had more 3 stars than 5 stars and every class has a few. Its not like top schools look up what the recruiting services think, and then only offer a kid who is a "5 Star", or "4 Star", etc.

Schools evaluate the players, determine if they are good enough for a scholarship offer. They don't use 247 rankings to decide.

Awesome get. Welcome, D.O.
Campbell & crew have recruited KC area pretty well - something prior staffs did not do well. Love making in-roads there. Eli Rasheed is a great DL coach, too.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. I can get the big schools not having to take a chance on that, they get who they want for the most part. But nothing I've seen makes it feel like unfixable issues, and it's probably something that will be apparent pretty quickly if it'll be something he can overcome with the trainers and nutritionists available at a D1 school.
Put Mr. Orange on a strict BBB&E diet - beef, bacon, butter and eggs (basically, carnivore diet) and within months that flab'll be gone.

There are about 35 "5 star" players/year. Over all its a small number.

Not every list is the same so there are some who might be 5 star on one list and not another so there are more that can claim to be 5 star. But your point is absolutely correct, there aren't many.

Was once a hug recruit so it seems he has the potential. Don't know what happened with his recruiting but definitely a kid worth taking on.
