Do not like the pending hire

I'm confused. The only assisstants Rhoads has hired that could be considered buddies are Bliel and Ash. I'm not sure what to make of Bliel but I think from a coaching/recruiting standpoint Ash is an excellent hire. Keeping Fountain and hiring Herman and Pope look to be very solid hires.

I want Iowa State to win and have great seasons as much as any of you however the fact remains that we have been down this road before and until I see results I have to question the way this staff is being put together and the talent that comes with it.

I would like to know why I should trust your opinion? Are you a former coach at the BCS level? Have you hired strength and conditioning coaches before? Do you have in depth knowledge of McKnight's philosophy and results?

Please tell me that your opinion is based on more than the fact that his wife has some relatives in Marshalltown.

Hate these darn iowans on staff. I have learned that all Iowans know nothing about football, are lazy and stupid, and are terrible coaches.

Heck, I think we should just apologize to the rest of the country and merge with Missouri since we are such a worthless state and nobody worth anything has come from here! :jimlad:
easy everyone. As a 57 year old alum and faithful money guy I have to have some faith in Rhoads! I don't agree with no DC and all the Iowa connections for staff but I am calm. I have to be, after the Mac debacle and Chizstick I have only one way to go........
I am thankful to work for a Iowa company and not live there, no shot at Iowa, just glad to be in New Mexico! Go Clones.

and the pattern is not to my liking is happening. The new S&C coach is a step down from what Iowa State has had since the Walden days. I do not like the continued loyal ties to "native" Iowans for jobs on the staff that did not coach at BCS schools. The OC hire is great....the rest have alot left to be desired. Coming from a Marshalltown native and knowing Coach Loney and and the family of of new S&C wife to say I am a little worried is to say the least.

Support your post. Why is it so bad. Please be specific other than he's from Marshalltown and you know his family. Is his family going to be doing the training?

Two things:

--Post #10. Keep it positive until you hit 50.

--You are a Bobcat fan. Nobody is a bobcat fan. Who are the bobcats???? Is that WNBA?

The responses by the Rice fans would indicate a differing opinion, linking their recent success to Yancy's work. Many are sorry to see him go.

Who asked you "recruit"?

My rules say you can't give advice until post #500 so maybe YOU should wait! :biglaugh:

Where do I start...

1. Gee, Iowa swears by their S/C coach Chris Doyle - he came to IC from one of those "non-BCS schools" - Utah State.
2. OC Herman campaigned for McKnight - Rice players loved him, and oh by the way set lots of strength records under his watch.
3. He emphasizes consistent strength progression in the major lifts - power clean, squat, and bench. Takes average talent (at Rice, Tulsa) and makes them faster. Ask coach Herman.
4. Will get fans involved by holding "Iron Cyclone Night" where we will be invited to see strength testing.

This is a great coaching hire - best of all of 'em, IMO. I was not excited about the Browns guy.

No. The poster Bobcat has only 10 posts, and he's already stepping on toes.

I'd prefer you'd direct your responses at the ludicrous statements of his posts and not the number he or she has made. Give a little break to us newb's.

Noted, but I wasn't the one who made the comment regarding number of posts. I was just clearing it up for the confused poster who made post #10.

Yeah but after 4,000 you gotta believe a little "old-timers" sets in. Then we just respond to make you feel loved although we discount everything Grandpa.

Easy! I'm 19 and got lots of life ahead of me (Iowa State is probably killing me faster than necessary though )

Holy shnykees! Try to respond to show support for we beginners and reply to the wrong quote - my bad.

the great news was put on hold for 2 reason...One the economy went south and so did Chizik's favor with certain donors and lack of game day improvment, this all happend the last 6 months of the year. Basically we are a a day or so and a week from national signing day away and we half a staff of not so glowing hires. I just hope Paul isnt playing favs with some of his old buddies.

bullsh(cough).
