What do you mean by press release? It seems he filed a motion in court and the reporter covering the story wrote about it. Isn't that what we were asking of the reporters?
So you are assuming that they were alerted by the attorney. Maybe they were, but is it not just as plausible that the reporter, especially the ICPC reporter, would have a contact in the courthouse (if that is where the motion is filed)? And if that is the case, that the contact sent word to the reporter that a motion was filed. The reporter could then get a copy of the motion and write a story on it. Doesn't seem too far fetched to me.Come on CA, don't you find it interesting the motion was filed today and on the site today? Of course they were either alerted or a release was sent out. The Register has been days slow on previous reports. Maybe they had someone sitting waiting on the courthouse steps, got a copy of the request, read it, wrote and filed a story the same morning. But,I doubt they have the staff for that.

EDIT: Please note that I agree that his asking for this information will be an attempt to smear the victim and create some doubt in the mind of a jury. I just think you were jumping to conclusions on how the story surfaced.
On their tempurpedic mattress, in the professionally decorated master suite of their multi-million dollar homes....
Parrish asks the state to produce all of the alleged victim's sent or received telephone and text messages from Oct. 14 until Jan. 12.
I don't know about you guys, but I found this line to be the most disturbing:
The prescription drug request is shady enough but could provide a valid strategy to possibly argue she is an abuser. It still makes the rape wrong but it would bring her character in to doubt as others have stated.
I am not saying I agree with the strategy, as a matter of fact I strongly disagree with it, but that seems to be the way the lawyer is going. Now the text messages...that just seems to be a huge invasion of privacy. That just seems like a reach to throw everything on the wall and see what sticks.
Unless someone asks the reporters (note the plural ... it was reported at both the ICPC and DMR sites), we won't know for sure. I'm think both explanations are plausible. I do find it interesting, though, that if he "released" the information to the papers, that the CRG doesn't have anything on the story (yet). Either they aren't reporting it or he didn't "release" the information to them.I know how this game is played. Tactic is to smear the assault victim. They would not take a chance this did not get in the paper. You can take it from there.
