Dear ISU AD: Please Stop Changing Hilton

Respectfully disagree. Spectator sports are way more fun to watch with an engaged crowd on screen. Basketball in general was borderline unwatchable last year with the lack of a crowd to pull you in.

Yes, if only the crowd at Hilton last Thursday could have made an impact

I would be concerned the dim lights in the balcony would be a safety issue. Those steps always make me nervous even when I can see them. The different heights of the steps in the Liberty Bowl freak me out worse though.
But for some reason we decided to make the upper deck darker than a movie theatre removing half the crowd trying to be like staples center.
To be honest one of my favorite aspects of college basketball is watching home crowds go bananas vs. a highly ranked team.
Like this? The end of the Michigan game, 2013-14 season. Perhaps they don't want the students doing this again, or atleast so quickly, thus the fence.

Also note (in the above clip) the upper balcony regions are dimmed. It's been like this for a while and nothing "new" this year. Am I right on this or is it ever darker this year?

From a home court advantage standpoint you want the fans (especially students) as close to the court as possible. I personally don’t like the change.

Just contact the AD about placing a row or two of chairs in there for big games like at Allen Fieldhouse and Cameron and then y’all quite ******** about every little thing. Some of you are seriously depressing, lol. Things change and are modernized. Hilton is still one of the best venues in the country. Thursday night was an amazing environment. That is all.

It's literally TWO steps from the front of the student section to the back of the media tables.

I did notice that the students were moved all the way back to their dorms/apartments today.

I actually really like the bleached white look of the floor. Makes the lines pop and the players look faster on it IMO. I don't care for the LED light intensity. Rather it be at the 2700 k to 3000 k range.

side note, that game was the start of awesomeness

Yes it was. Great year! That team started 15-0 btw, and beat Baylor in their first conference game!!

It will be a tall order to beat Baylor, to go 13-0, but wouldn't it be nice to have a similar start and year! Especially one so unexpected. The 2013-14 year was pretty unexpected too though so who knows.
