I forgot people tuned in to see the crowd.
Respectfully disagree. Spectator sports are way more fun to watch with an engaged crowd on screen. Basketball in general was borderline unwatchable last year with the lack of a crowd to pull you in.
Nothing compared to the old dude (50+) that lived in Friley when I was a student.
I would be concerned the dim lights in the balcony would be a safety issue. Those steps always make me nervous even when I can see them. The different heights of the steps in the Liberty Bowl freak me out worse though.
But for some reason we decided to make the upper deck darker than a movie theatre removing half the crowd trying to be like staples center.
Like this? The end of the Michigan game, 2013-14 season. Perhaps they don't want the students doing this again, or atleast so quickly, thus the fence. To be honest one of my favorite aspects of college basketball is watching home crowds go bananas vs. a highly ranked team.
Also note (in the above clip) the upper balcony regions are dimmed. It's been like this for a while and nothing "new" this year. Am I right on this or is it ever darker this year?Respectfully disagree. Spectator sports are way more fun to watch with an engaged crowd on screen. Yes it was. Great year! That team started 15-0 btw, and beat Baylor in their first conference game!!side note, that game was the start of awesomeness
