Deace claiming Gene has not earned the player's respect, the players are not going to war for him. He needs to change it up this week in order to rally the troops.

I'm at work and not by a radio so I'm not listening but I can verify there is some back and forth going on BUT it's only what you'd expect. I've heard it from players and the staff, it's not a secret and it's not "infighting" or turmoil per say.
I posted in another thread sometime in the past 24hours that it's much like Jiri vs GMac last season. You have a new coaching staff that has come in to replace who these guys were recruited by and really liked. They've been asked to change what they know about how the game is played and not all of the players have given in just yet. Some players have "seen the light" so-to-speak but many haven't. It's really just a matter of time. The staff obviously isn't going to give in so it's just a matter of when each player decides for themselves that they need to commit to the new system to make the team as a whole much better. Even with our lack of talent, we can and will play much better once we get all the players to buy into the coaching staff and style of play.
It is expected, some dissension. We've yet to get a W, so in the player's eyes, they have no fruits from their increased labors this past off-season.

Now THAT could explain what we have seen so far. It is like only a few of them are playing inspired. Maybe all these guys came to play for Mac and not for ISU.
I heard from a friend on the team that at one practice Chizik pretty much told Blythe he could gather up all of his records and take them the **** out of Ames. Take that for what you will.
