David Montgomery to the Lions

Finally Montgomery will have a good oline.
He’ll have a line but will he even play? Williams had a great year and Swift wasn’t healthy all year after getting injured in week 2, but he was averaging over 9 yards per carry before injury and was the every down back. He’ll be back as the number 1 next year with Williams taking the short yardage/goaline carries. I’m just not seeing playing time for him unless someone gets injured.

Williams is very unlikely to be back. He's a free agent, and it doesn't seem likely that the Lions would re-sign him now that Montgomery is with the team. So, Montgomery could end up getting Jamaal's touches, which would be a very good opportunity.

I believe Williams is a FA and will probably sign somewhere else now.

The other bears RB is horrible at pass blocking. That doesn't bode well when your QB was hurt a good portion of last season.

So glad DMo is out of that horrible organization, although I wish he was going somewhere better than Detroit.

Maybe they'll draft another RB. Regardless, your point about Fields is a good one. The Bears are looking up in terms of draft picks, if their front office management has changed, that is. Big if. I'm just not sold on Fields having a long and healthy NFL career. I guess we'll see.

Reportedly in the market for Ekeler. They're a few pieces away from making a big leap. I still hate the organization for wasting David's first few years.
Ekeler is already at the age where running backs take a dramatic step backwards.

I hope David and Allen got good deals! The Chiefs will do what they do. Hard to argue with their formula, at the moment. Good front office, good management.

I think David should have gotten a couple more per year but RBs are saturated in the NFL. Lazard's deal seems really solid and he's going to a team that can compete tomorrow if they get Rodgers.

When was the last time the bears were good? Cap space and draft picks mean dog ****. The bears can’t seem to do much of anything right it seems so to assume they are going to get better is a risky bet to make.

They won the division 3 or 4 years ago. When was the last time the Lions were good? When was the last time the Vikings went the Super Bowl? I don't think I was alive and I'm in my 40's.

The Bears had a terrible GM and president. They now have a new GM and president. Already love what they are doing in free agency. Signed Foreman for half the price of Monte. Still have Herbert. Signed a pretty good OG. Could draft one of two stud tackles with their first pick.

I like where the Bears are going. All the Vikings and Packers fans can suck it. Lions? Who cares?

Last time the Lions made the playoffs was 2016 (I think?). Whether that translates to being good is anybody's guess.

As far as "who cares?" when it comes to the Lions? Well, the rest of the NFC North is going to whether they like it or not, because they're gearing up to own it for the next several years.

I'm again reminded that David is now a Lion! And they are getting better? Another team to watch, root for.
