They seem surprised Georges can do anything besides spot up shooting. Guess they are unfamiliar with his body of work at ISU.
I've always wondered why they don't utilize his post up game in the NBA. He is used to scoring over taller players in the post. Seems to have carved a spot for himself as a spot up shooter instead, so I guess whatever gets him paid is a good thing.

At one point last night (after a sweet Niang move to the basket), one of the announcers said, "He's digging into his bag like there's fries at the bottom." That has to be one of the best lines I've heard. Maybe better than Rafferty's signature - "onions."
George without the S had 27 pts in a recent G League game for Portland's G League team. Did he score 27 his freshman season at ISU? A short video of highlights from that game vs. Mexico City:

So periodically, I think to check on Nader to see if he's signed somewhere. Frankly, I feel like he proved he can play rotation minutes as an NBA wing and if he hadn't gotten injured at PHX, he might still be in the league.
Turns out he signed for South East Melbourne Phoenix in Australia's NBL (which is a GOOD league). I love that their 43-second intro highlight video opens with his ISU dunk on Oklahoma State's existence:
He signed in mid-December "for the remainder of the season" (not sure how long that is) and has played 5 games. He had to have been rusty but has put up decent stats so far:
In this intro interview, Dooley says he was working out with a team in Germany, rehabbing his knee. That must've been a more lingering issue than I had imagined. I thought he should've played with Egypt last summer in the W Cup to showcase himself but he simply may not have been healthy. Quick interview in Australia:

Philly did out of necessity some when Embiid was out and it worked out pretty well. He even held up defensively to some degree. Last night saw some driving Niang with the sweet floater.
He also did more than stand at the 3-pt line in Philly when Harden wasn't there or was injured. But when the ball was in The Beard's hands, there wasn't really a place for Georges' driving game. I checked and in Philly last year, his share of shots from 3PT was like 80% and it's 60-something% with the Cavs.
That behind-the-back move last night looked like he was playing Texas Tech while at ISU.
