Cyclones in the pros 2023-2024 (hoops)

Given the Jazz winning without THT, assume they’ll move him. Wonder what his next deal will look like this offseason.

So the NBA does Europe games like the NFL?
Cool, did not know that.

It would be a lot more realistic to actually have a franchises in Europe someday since every team has several European players vs nfl having pretty much zero. Probably still a big long shot but a 4 team pod (London, Madrid or Barcelona, Paris, Munich) some day wouldn’t shock me.

Georges' cold 2nd half kept him just short of hitting double figures for the 5th straight game, which would have been his season-best streak. Still, these last 5 games have helped him push his 3PT % from 32ish% to 35%:

His (tradutional) stats for the year so far:

The last two years with Philly, he averaged 9.2 PPG and 8.2 PPG and shot 40% from 3PT. Interestingly, his percentage of shots this year that are 2-pointers has risen significantly.

The NFL is popular enough itself that it could work, even without European players.

I think BB is more popular worldwide, and the logitics would be a lot easier. Another division could send 4 teams to Europe and play everyone in that pod twice over a 2 week period. NFL would need to have a lot more cross atlantic flights.

Would Europe want it? Would it hurt their top BB leagues if the NBA came in?

There would be a lot of resistance from the leagues in Spain, France, Germany and Italy - all of which are good. My guess is that under FIBA rules, they could stand in the way. The UK's "league" is nothing in comparison and maybe wouldn't be able to stop a franchise but BB is just not popular there the way it is in the other four. There would be a lot of things to work out.

This (not) just in: In late November, Naz and Zalgiris (Lithuania) parted ways ans he joined Olympiacos in Greece. He got to play against some tough EuroLeague teams with Zalgiris (including Real Madrid and Barcelona) but his minutes and production dwindled down to 4 MIN / 0 PT vs. Nick Weiler-Babb and Bayern on NOV 17. Shortly thereafter, he was sent packing.

He didn't shoot over 30% from 3PT or average double-digit scoring in either the EuroLeague or Lithuania's domestic league so my GUESS is that the team didn't see the value in him.

He's played 4 Greek League games - he has to wait to be eligible to play in the EuroLeague with Olympiacos - and is averaging 6.5 PPG on 40% shooting from deep.

The article says he shoud be getting his Greek passport soon (through his mother):
