The secondary were not great tacklers. The linebackers usually chased them down when the cornerbacks and safeties made feeble attempts to tackle. The only people making tackles were all in the Top 15 in the nation: Jon Banks, Tyrone, and Ace. I still believe that those three may have set a national record for number of tackles for a trio. Carper did okay too. The other 8 players when tackling were slugs.

If we did not have good linebackers, we would have been a hundred yards worse a game and feeling flike K State from 1980:

15 I got my picture with Bowen after the Mizzou game last year, and in the backround there is a big ace of spades card that really made the picture sweet. Im guessing that was you, nicely done!!

That was probably me... with 3 games to go last year and a chance to lead the nation in tackles and the overall team goals kinda washing away I wanted to do more and show appreciation for what "ace" was putting out on the field each game.
Again... its a grass roots effort but would love to see a bunch of "aces" in the stands this year ! Thanks !

I was glad to see how he progressed last year. Watching some replays of the Iowa game he had some pretty poor efforts trying to make some tackles. Things I did not see at the end of the season.
He did have that momentum changing interception though late in the game against Iowa... was hoping that was gonna be the play to get us back in the game... just too bad the offense went away in the second half of that game.... some things to look back on we did good and that the cupboard is not bare. Thanks to the magazines for picking us at the bottom that's even better !

The guy is pure class from what I've seen. He stuck around much longer than any other at last year's Fan Fest and signed my 3 year old's football. Then he walked and talked with another 10 year old after all was done. I see that he took his brother in this year to give him a good example to follow. On top of that he works as hard or harder than anybody we have.
He is closing in on being my favorite all-time Cyclone based on the things I've observed. I have many favorites, and if Alvin had been here for four years he would be looking at a retired jersey for sure...
