If we can get a guy like Mike Gesell, I would take it. He is a good player and cc is cut from the same cloth.

I disagree with Gessell comparison, Mike is more of a SG skills wise but a PG's body. He's forced to play PG due to Marble and Iowa lack of a true PG. Remember Marcus Paige was the PG on the Iowa AAU team in HS he didn't get the reps initiating the offense against top competition like CC has. There is a reason Ulis was the priority recruit for Fran last year.
I've watched a few of Custer's games he is a true PG. Comfortable with initiating the offense and keeping defenses honest with the outside shot. He's 6'1 with long arms too, which help with passing and collecting steals.
I had a conflict and I couldn't make it to the game. When I saw him last year, I would definitely call him a combo guard who is as much a slasher as shooter. He's adept at breaking down his man and driving to the hoop to finish or dish. He's got a mean little cross over and hesitation move in his arsenal that he uses to abuse the HS kids with. He can obviously really shoot the ball.
Calling him like Jacy Holloway doesn't capture it - he's bigger than Jacy by quite a bit already and is better athlete. His game is more like that doosh at Ohio State, Aaron Craft. For the old timers, I see some Mike Born in him, so imagine that. He's definitely confident, and I think is going to be a player that opponents' fans just hate.
Like Kirk Hinrich?
Looks like he plays like Hinrich. Maybe smaller. But, similar game.

A fair bit smaller, like 3-4 inches, but yes, similar to Hinrich. I don't know if he's quite as fast in the open court as Hinrich was, but I would say it's a pretty fair comparison.

Kirk was one of the fastest you will ever see end to end with the ball.
Anyone else find it strange that player comparisons are always made among the same skin color?

Getting ready for Custer's game to start. Fred walks in to the gym and the BVNW (Custer's school) students start chanting his name. He's here with Doc. I'll post my observations later.

Not Mike I Miss FTs in Last Minute Gessell. He's got way more offense than Craft and more handle and diversity to his offense than Born. He actually reminds me a lot of Monte and Mike Gesell.
He is like a Steve Kerr if Steve Kerr was black.Anyone else find it strange that player comparisons are always made among the same skin color?
Which is why I'm pretty pleased with my Morris-Custer comparison. Breaking the color barrier!!!
Way to go me!
Anyone else notice that people who break the color barrier aren't very humble?
