Visit Haverhill!! Town has an awesome bar!
My favorite small towns in Iowa would have to be Decorah, Burlington, Bloomfield, Pella, Calmar and Fort Atkinson.
You are probably too young to remember, but Stanton's water tower as I recall is a coffee pot. That is because Folgers commercials for decades featured "Mrs. Olson," a native of Stanton. The town is predominately of Swedish heritage.Stanton calls itself the little white town or something like that. Every house in the town is painted white. They have a nice church in the middle of the town. They also have some dorky worlds largest teapot.
Anyone here ever had a Gunder Burger from Gunder, IA? 1lb of ground beef deliciousness.
I grew up playing baseball against Haverhill in the seventies. We also played against Van Cleve.
Okay, here's a couple more not mentioned:
Story City - old-time merry go round and well maintained downtown with nice shops and restaurants.
Spencer - always liked the look of it driving throung on the way to Okoboji. Nice downtown.
Atlantic - very well-kept community in the rolling hills of SW Iowa.
If you're danish at all, Elk Horn has a whole slew of danish stuff, along with a working danish windmill. They just finished up their Trivolle (sp?) days.

Funny, my first thought was WTH is there in Iowa Falls besides the river? We only went there if we needed something from the grocery store on Sunday or wanted Dairy Queen.
This year is the 150th Franklin County Fair, so they're doing some special things to commemorate the anniversary. We always go back for the weekend and take the kids. You can't beat the homemade ice cream or church food stands!
Any place with a good tenderloin, like the one at Tojo's in Jamaica:
