Confused by Tom Crean's speech

fixed it for the rest of us.

-keep.

Oh burn. Somebody is just jealous. Of what? I don't know.

But, back on topic - Crean joining the BT gives the conference one of the best groupings of coaches in the nation. Crean, Izzo, Lickliter, Belein, Weber, Matta, Tubby....

I'll give you Izzo and Matta. Maybe Tubby, but I think Crean, Painter, Lickliter, Belein, and Weber have some proving to do... and I'm not even sure that Weber hasn't already proven he's not a good fit at the big 10 level. I think there are too many new coaches in the big 10 to make that statement so soon.

Oh yeah? Well, the Big 12 invented the missionary position.

You're welcome.

I wouldn't exactly consider Webber one of the best coaches in the country, and I don't know that Lickliter has earned that distinction yet.
How about the Big 12? Bill Self, Rick Barnes, Jeff Bzdelik, formerly Bob Knight, Jeff Capel, and Mark Turgeon?

Your list is more based on proven results than SH's list. I would go with Izzo, Matta, Tubby, Weber, & Ryan as guys who have won something of note as a head coach in a power conference. The rest have potential, but need to show that they can compete day after day at the elite level.

I think that Bo Ryan is the best in the big 10. Maybe only for his Soulja Boy dance if nothing else.

Jeff Capel?

I also think that A&M made a horrible hire when they hired Turgeon. I do think Bzdelik is a good hire but hasn't proven anything yet

I am confused by why teams like IU and KU go with those letters when it is University of _______. Best of luck to him in his search of the truth.

Thank you for saying this. I have long wondered why this is. Also, what about schools that have the word state, but aren;t actually states (i.e. Murray State)

Why would anyone step into that job. It is such a mess over there. Everyone on tv is saying how he will get a longer time to turn it around than any other IU coach. That can change prett quick.

Because it is Indiana dude - aka one of the top 5 basketball programs in the country. Crean will be a legend if he turns this around and hangs banner #6 from the rafters.:notworthy:

Weird post, but no thanks.

I definately think Crean will be one of the better coaches in the Big 10 and since I think most of the coaches in that conference are dirty he will fit right in.

Enlighten the rest of us with regard to which coaches in the Big Ten are dirty? I am not seeing it. Now that they got rid of Sampson (who was from the Big 12 by the way) it seems like a pretty good group of coaches:

Illinois - Bruce Weber
Indiana - Tom Crean
Iowa - Todd Lickliter
Michigan - John Beilein
Michigan State - Tom Izzo
Minnesota - Tubby Smith
Northwestern - Bill Carmody
Ohio State - Than Matta
Penn State - Ed DeChellis
Purdue - Matt Painter
Wisconsin - Bo Ryan

I'm surprised there wasn't more Alfraud talk during this time. Maybe there was and I just missed it. M&M were saying today that New Mexico just gave him an extension to help hold onto him.

It was hilarious when Duke Vitale went on his rant about how IU should re-hire Bob Knight! Knight just looked at him like he had a third hand growing out of his forhead, to quote Roger Clemens.

Dan Patrick talk about it too. Atleast Alfy has not changed, sucking a big raise out of his current U for not doing a thing.
