I apologize if this has already been confirmed as pretty much common knowledge (I do think that a few people have mentioned him as a possible candidate), but I've heard from a very reliable source that Greg Lansing of Indiana State is one of those interested parties in the job who has already reached out to ISU. You can mock and criticize me all you want as I rarely am one to have any inside info and I know that, but in this case I do, and I it comes from someone very close and reliable.

Lansing L.O.L. He can take a seat at the back of the bus.

Re: To everyone wanting a BIG name

Really? You'd be disappointed if we had 5 more successful years and had to hire another coach again? Yeah, that would be horrible, winning a bunch of games and stuff.

It's like some people want ISU to hire the worst coach possible. That way when he drives the MBB program into the ground they won't have to worry about him leaving us.

I don't believe I've seen anybody state anything to this effect. Keep beating the **** out of that straw man though!

Apparently he was born in Des Moines, so safe to say he might have some contacts around here. He was an assistant at Iowa under Alford

This Kauffman guy? Georges?

Kauffman...

Lansing doesn't have a particularly impressive record. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Lansing

In terms of Otz staying if we hire another coach. I can't see him leaving if the new coach wants him to stay. At this point in the year there are almost no other places where he could be the top assistant. He's making really good money, why not stay. If ISU has a great season next year, he would be in line to interview for head coach at smaller schools. Much better chance at a head coach somewhere the following year than if he quits and doesn't coach at all next year.

Literally just over 24 hours into an official coaching search....all hell has broken loose.

We are witnessing CF history unfolding right before our eyes. Years from now we will talk about Steve Kauffmann like we do Officer Gibbons, planes on a treadmill, or Roger Sprague.

Indiana State has the smallest budget in the Valley and plays in an absolute ********.

What he's done there is nothing short of amazing. He's a good coach, he's not right for this opening, but he's a good coach.
