I've seen this posted multiple times now. Isn't this very short sighted? We need to a hire a guy quickly just so we don't lose a few players for next year? Make a long term major decision in a hire for marginal gains for one season?
 
To go even further with the SBnation Stritt thing, the best way to make ourselves unique from other Big 12 schools that we will never out recruit is to have the ball in our hands longer with a running game that can wear teams down and a ball control passing game. The best way to nullify the passing games of the Big 12 is to keep the ball out of other offenses hands by chewing up the clock. Hopefully we hire someone who understands this and not just someone who thinks we will be able to pass the ball every down like some Big 12 coordinators who are on these lists might want to do.
We have a great track record of recruiting big, physical offensive lineman, solid runningbacks, and dual threat quarterbacks so we should capitalize that with our offense instead of going in the opposite direction.
 
He has no head coaching experience and is probably too young this time when we are looking, but Mike Sanford Jr. is an OC to watch. After job he did at Boise, had lots of offers before taking ND job. Is obviously a coach's son and a former qb with a head for the game. Worked for Harbaugh at Stanford.

The thing I've taken away from the several Stitt articles found online is that he'll do whatever it takes to move the ball, and he'll do it in a way that's surprising.

SB nation: "If teams try to widen out and present the Griz with a five-man box, Stitt will hit them with zone runs all day long. . . ."

Maryland is is so money heavy they needed a donor to clean up their AD shortfall just to leave the ACC.

He he has said in the past that he only comes back as HC. He left dmac thinking he was getting canned and isu wouldn't hire a current staff member.

My assumption is that unless you're hiring Hoke, whoever he's targeting will have a bowl game to prepare for.

Most times a HC being hired by another school won't coach in the bowl and move right into new job. Just depends.

I don't think most guys stick around for the bowl game at their current job when they get hired "up." The exception I can think of is Tom Herman when he got hired by Ohio State, but he was seemingly out to lunch during the Pinstripe Bowl anyway.
 
One reason I don't like these consolidated threads. Some things get posted 20 times, only way it doesn't happen is if you read the whole 3 hours worth. Need to put cliff notes of what the next 100 posts entail, but you could probably just say: 100 posts containing people insulting each other, trolling, and several bat **** crazy ideas.
