Coaches named in ISU release

As someone who knows Booby Elliott and was coached by Bobby Elliott I can attest that he does know how to text, email and work a cell phone. So this premise that he isn't up to date on technology is complete BS!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen first hand him texting and calling recruits, so this attempt by the DMR to try to paint him as an exception to the other ISU coaches is irresponsible.

To be clear, my problem with the article isn't that I think Elliott is some sort of cheater or anything, but I don't understand why he is getting the benefit of the doubt from Bryce Miller and no one else from Iowa State is. If this whole thing is a huge problem at Iowa State like they've been writing for 2 weeks, then Bobby Elliott was his 199 undocumened calls is also a problem.

Wally is older than Bobby and I haven't seen his name on the list.

I think that's everyone's problem. And the editor has to be an idiot. You have to know how it will look after your coverage the past two weeks to have a UI grad write that type of article.

It's been all day and I'm still stewing about this column. It may literally be the worst professional sports column I've ever read - not because it hits the Cyclones or because I disagree with what it says, but because I could write, "Bryce Miller is a U of I grad and therefore will do anything to excuse a fellow Hawkeye" and there's as much fact and sound reasoning in my 18 words as there are in Miller's 1,000.

It is a complete abortion of a sports column. I am embarrassed for him.

Here ya go hawkeye fans, salivate over this one.

(Some of you are just going to have to know what I'm talking about.)

Back on 05-28-2009 "Cyclonestate78" quoted the Rag; "...Hawkeye QB, Jon Beutjer was also disgusted with the way the discipline was dealt to Aiello. Aiello, who is expected to start in Saturday's game for the Hawkeyes, said last week that his punishment was extra conditioning."

Then you'll remember this one;

"Twelve Iowa football players are recovering after being taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Monday evening with a kidney condition... The Gazette said the Iowa players have rhabdomyolysis... This can affect the kidneys and can be caused by excessive exercise. ...always the first priority, health and development. I mean workouts are "never used to punish." Ferentz immediately downplayed the incident. He called the situation "not newsworthy"

The Des Moines Register said, ...ok.

Rag sort of doubly insulting to us geezer Cyclone fans. (1) Bobby didn't cheat cause he's a blueblood Hok; (2) Bobby didn't cheat cause he is too old to know how to work a phone.:rolleyes:

I guess Millers story was suppose to be about Elliott not knowing the rule. Problem is he wasnt at ISU at the time the rule went into affect. None of the coaches listed were at ISU when the rule went into affect. Maybe he should have wrote about a coach that is still at ISU instead of the coach that left.

So what's the latest consent on what going to happen. Des Moines media seems convinced that Coaches including CFH are gonna face game penalties and Baylor fans say "don't worry we do it all the time.". So what is it now that a week has passes?

ISU is not Baylor . . we should worry.

I would feel better if ISU has EVER had a fair hearing/results from the NCAA. We are too Midwestern and too rural . . . with no "push back attitude" because of our culture.

I wonder if Baylor gets off on some of this stuff because of their law programs, they were ready to sue the holy hell out of whomever stepped away during conference realignment.
