Coaches named in ISU release

That's your opinion.

I just live in the real world. Any victory we get this year in football or basketball will basically have an asterisk after it because we "cheated" in the eyes of the NCAA and the rest of the country.

So who really gives a rat's you know what.

You say you live in the "real world", when actually in the real world, all the negative things you expect or predict to happen all the time on this website hardly ever pan out.

We're ISU... so we're screwed. Trust me, the NCAA will make an example out of us.

Actually, it doesn't even matter anymore. In the release, it says that Iowa State made major NCAA violations. So no matter what the penalty ends up being, we'll still be considered "cheaters" now no matter what.

Just great news. Ruins basically anything we've accomplished as far as I'm concerned. So we made some crappy bowl games and got to the NCAA Tournament 2 years in a row by cheating.... what a great accomplishment! Not.

And yes, I know I'll get ripped again for posting this, but who cares. And there are those that won't believe we benefited in any way from these phone calls, and of course, there will be no way to tell if we did or didn't, but it will be assumed in the public court of opinion that we did, so it doesn't matter.

Who knows if we landed Royce White because of some of these calls? Who knows what football recruits we might have been able to get because of all these illegal calls?

I'm just getting so sick of college athletics in general, and the NCAA too.

How hard can it be to understand the words Arob quoted: When a player's name was included on that list, we stopped recruiting them, never offered them, and they never came here. There's no taint or cheating at all in this.

I really don't see how anyone can be concerned over this unless they either make an active decision to be concerned or actively troll. There's really nothing there.

I think you're trolling. If other schools investigated themselves to this extent they'd find stuff like this as well. Some more and some less. I'm not excusing it but it's not affecting games.

Yep. Moore was the mentor for Jok and why he we sat very well with him prior to his injuries. There was a rumor that we could not, or would not, go after Jok last summer even if we wanted to. It makes sense now.

When we hire a coach with prior connections to a player it is a violation- when KU does it, it is good recruiting. We should have just hired Jok's father as a coach.

Maybe that is the angle here: we self report when a coach continues to communicate with his previous player/recruit and take self proclaimed punishment for it. Now, when KU does it, they look like the bad guy and lose one of their most prominent recruiting tactics. Brilliant! CFH is a genius!

Holy Drama Queen!!!!

We already punished the wrong doers and I will bet lots of money that the NCAA does nothing more significant to punish us.

Regarding your next post about every win this year having an asterisk, that's just plain stupid considering this was all between 2008 and 2011 and has absolutely nothing to do with this years teams.

You really don't think we contacted anyone in 2010 or 2011 that might still be on our football or basketball rosters right now?

And as I said, it doesn't really even matter what we did or didn't do in the court of public opinion. We committed major NCAA violations..... PERIOD. That's all anyone else in the country hears. They don't read the entire report. ISU cheats. That's it.

It will take several years before we lose this stigma I'm afraid. Truth hurts, and it sucks!

You're a ******* *****. Yes, I know I'm not supposed to say that, but you're a ******* *****.

"Again, our institution deeply regrets that Moore communicated via texts with his former
players, even if he was responding as a mentor, and not in any way recruiting those
prospective student athletes. Upon discovery of the violations, Iowa State University
immediately removed Moore from his position and ceased all recruiting contact with the
potential student athletes. None were offered athletics financial aid or a spot on the team
as a walk-on student athlete, so Iowa State University clearly received no competitive
advantage from Moore’s impermissible texts."

Moore had the most violations of anyone involved, if I read it right.

And explains why Jok was never offered.

I also live in the real world, but I prefer to wait and see what actually happens instead of worrying about it because then you are just wasting energy.

How many times do I need to repeat that it doesn't matter what happens now.

I live in the Cedar Rapids area, and all the 3 news channels have said on this side of the state tonight, over and over again, is that Iowa State's Athletic Department committed MAJOR NCAA VIOLATIONS. Thousands of improper phone calls to recruits. That's it. That's what is out there right now. Nobody, besides us die hard ISU fans, will bother to look at this report, or at the findings by the NCAA.

Throughout the state, and the country right now, we are known as cheaters. It DOES NOT matter what happens after this point in terms of how we are portrayed. Heck, we might as well be USC, as far as our reputation goes now.

Dude, you need a reality check. There are players getting paid and recruits bought by hiring AAU, high-school coach, or fathers as coaches in package deals. This is nothing. No one except you and other trolls care about 25 calls Lefty Moore made to his former mentee. No one in the two cities I live in would even have a clue what you are talking about.

The real world has to be frightening for people like you

I'd be fine cheating more if it meant titles like auburn fb and Kentucky bb, but this is to lame to amount to crap. And clonedude is the type of fan I don't even understand why he bothers. Dude, go find something that makes you and us less miserable.

Well ****, since the media said so, guess it is over. I mean I guess it was over during the whole realignment fiasco, but apparently I'm wrong. Now it's ***Officially*** over.

I want you all to know that as a Cyclone Fan my heart is tied in what the media in Cedar ******* Rapids cares. It is the end. Burn it all. Tell my mom I loved her.

Too dramatic and you are diminishing accomplishment due to your own jaded world view when you have not one shred of info.

Not one basketball player at ISU in the past 3 years was on the receiving end of those texts or calls. NOT ONE- Every athlete on the other end of this was immediately ruled out of coming to ISU.

I don't know the status of the athletes in football.

I understand Moore being a mentor to him but its very likely that we didn't want him after his injuries too. The kid only had offers from Drake and Iowa...not like he was a big time recruit last summer.
