I thought he was used well last year. I wish TJ could have hung on to him.
I think we found adequate replacements, but he'd be the best shooter on the present roster if he returned. I gathered he sensed that and didn't want that featured role next season.
I would have been curious to see how he would have done with an actual PG like Hunter, though.
Funny thing is, Bart Torvik says he doesn't move the needle much for the Jayhawks...
The model says JCL makes KU slightly worse on offense and appreciably worse on defense. I think that is probably unfair -- doubt he can hurt them, but not sure how much he really helps them.
Compare that to putting him back on our squad for next season...
Much better on offense and slightly worse on defense.
Enough to move us from projected #203 to projected #161.
The line between teams "in the middle" of the distribution is pretty fine there, though, and I really doubt we are going to be the 200th best team in the country again next year.
Still, would have been nice to have to have at least one crack shooter.
