No kidding, just because we post a rumor we hear from sources closer to the program than ourselves doesn't mean we're being negative or pessimistic. When I read what CW says & Travis Hines, much less nothing in the way of visits from our asst's , then I tend to believe those people vs. a recruit's camp claiming all 5 are in play yet. I think they just say that to deflect speculation from people hounding the recruit. Ask CW if we're even slightly in the picture, my guess is he thinks not. So are some you saying I put to much faith in his connections? That's fine, but it has nothing to do w being negative. I'd love to be mislead, wrong, fooled, etc on this topic. Crow would taste good.

You are exaggerating what has been said. No, it does not sound great, but no one has said we're out of the running except a group of our fans.

I'm not exaggerating the info I was told. But that's fine. Like I said, I hope you are right, and would love that it could still happen. We're all on the same side about this, ..nothing to bicker about cuz we're cyclONEnation. We all want what's best for the program.
 
Our chances are very low but I'm not totally convinced that we're out. He's been playing it really close to the vest and out situation for him fits pretty well.

This is exactly what is occurring. We all know its a low percentage thing...so its safe for the average idiot to pretend they know something and say there's no chance. The truth is, neither Chris Williams nor Travis Hines have asserted there is no chance...just that its a long shot. Those making conclusive statements aren't optimists or pessimists, they are smply having delusions of grandeur and pretending they "know" what is going on with Diallo's recruiting.

Wait a week, most likley the kid ends up at KU/UK, and we move on...nobody is expecting him to come to ISU. But there is a small, but reasonable, chance that he does surprise people and come here. And its not true that our staff has given up on the kid.

He's a great fit for these all star games because kids throw up a million terrible shots and there are zillions of rebounds and uncontested put backs to grab.

Sorry, but how does CW and/or Hines get their sources? If the two of them knew we were out, they wouldn't be the first two people on the planet to know. If the two of them knew for sure, we would've already been eliminated by every recruit website.
 
The last I "Chieked," we have a 25% chance of landing him. Still slim, but better than our chances with Marcus Paige a few years ago.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if he waits until after the NBA playoffs for the NBA coaching carousel to go-round. Three of the coaches in play could potentially jump ship, still. I hope that's not the case, but I would wait if I were him.

The NBA playoffs don't end until June. Isn't it illegal to wait that long to commit without being forced to sit out a year?
 
Ok, Mesa, then it works both ways.... You say some are misreading/exaggerating info or "pretending to know", then I ask you... Is it a FACT that you absolutely KNOW what you stated above; that it's not true our staff has given up on said recruit, as in we're still calling him, trying for a last push or even a visit? Cuz if you know that...then that makes me happy. Very happy. Not delusional.

Wow, lighten up. It is relevant to the discussion of how long he could wait to announce. Put twocoach on ignore if you hate him that much.
