Cheikna Dembele

What's the scouting report on Simeon Carter for next season? Seems like he's the forgotten big man on this roster. Before the season started Prohm said Carter would see playing time. I understand all the freshman talk - bad defense, needs to add strength, but this kid isn't mentioned at all for next season.
Carter can be really good if he puts the work in this offseason. I like his upside a lot.

I hope Small can land him. It would be a huge get. I would rather get this kid than a grad transfer unless the grad transfer was a stud of course but that's unlikely.

He shoots 80% from free throw line!

Remember that Dembele is 21 years old. He's physically mature, just raw skills. I'd still refer a grad transfer, but would be very happy with Dembele considering he has four years.

so... this dude?
different type of player, but more proven

Austin Arians is 6-6, has scored more than 900 points in 3 years, will graduate at end of the semester. Expect high major interest.

Without seeing Arians game his size seems redundant with Burton and Bowie (think his post grad addition is already being forgotten). I am always for adding talent and figuring out lineup construction later so I am open to the idea but I think Prohm would be looking for a true center/PF rebounder/shot blocker McKay type if they add to the roster.

I know you're joking, but how crazy is it that UNLV just got an official visit from him without even having a coach?
Normally a recruit visiting a school that doesn't currently have have a coach would be crazy but given the recruit is Thon Maker & the school is UNLV it's not really surprising at all.

That alone should entice an investigation by the NCAA. I could understand if he was a Findley kid, but c'mon....

And sadly it's not just Thon. I'm pretty sure I read about a 4 guard visiting UNLV several weeks ago as well. Crazy

Now we'd like you to meet our interim coach, Stacka Benjamins.

Indeed, if anything it makes perfect sense.

Makes me think back to when CW mentions there could 1-3 schollies open up due to offseason attrition. Wouldn't like to see it, but it has happened almost every year in recent memory. Being that Carter is a big, though, and has a year invested in the program, I would hate to see him go more than others in the past (SDW, Okoro, Sledge etc.). But we've lost bigs in recent memory too (Railey, Gibson)

Still just gonna be a Soph. on a team with a bunch of SR's again. It's a fine problem to have for a program like ISU. Not really gonna be counting on him for anything especially with the Bowie addition so whatever we get from Carter is gravy. Seems to be a solid locker room/bench guy at the very least. Or he might transfer this summer. Lol.

He is pretty funny to watch on the bench. Seems like a fun kid with a good attitude. Hopefully he sticks around as I can see him developing into a good player.

@coreyevan_10 Hasn't been most productive of outings for Cheickna Dembele still cleaning the glass and protecting basket. Dunphy, Huggs, ISU, StJoes here

Only one team still playing in that bunch. I like that Huggy is after him though.
