So if he transfers to play ball at another school how does it work again that he doesn't have to sit a year? Does he need to just go to a DII school? ( I know I should know this, but just can't remember)

This is going to take our APR from bad to horrible. Prepare for sanctions.
Ok. back to the point then.
Charles Boozer has a model student athlete for over 3 years. He had a serious lapse in judgement, but people make mistakes. I hope he gets the help he needs at his new school, and has a good last year of college basketball.
.
If he's seeking treatment for what he calls "a problem he's been dealing with" or however he said it, then this probably isn't a one-time deal, but a long-term problem.
Yeah, bigger stars get away with it, right. But I was referring to the victim's viewpoint. The post which I answered was:
Which inferred that the victim should feel better about Sherron than Boozer because Sherron is a bigger star. I don't think if you are being violated, it matters who is doing it.
Read before you call me clueless.
Just curious, in the quote he says he wants to seek treatment. Am I right that he can't take a year off from school and then transfer somewhere? Same type of rule as Gilstrap. You must be in school continuously. This is one of those rules that the NCAA has that just doesn't make sense to me.
Gilstrap had 2 years off. I believe the rule is 5 years to play 4 and I don't think it matters what you do in that 5th year.
I was listening to the scanner on Friday night-Saturday morning (30th-1st). The police were called to a "out of control party with fights". Not sure whose apartment it was but LaRon Dendy and Charles Boozer had their names ran by Ames Police. LaRon for sure came back suspened/revoked out of North Carolina and IIRC the same for Charles.
After Ames PD ran their names, the next radio traffic was "at this time, the female victim does not wish to file charges". Neither Charles or LaRon were cited/arrested for any crime at that time (not sure if the victim has since filed charges).
Not sure if this would be related to why Boozer "left" the team. If it is related, then I'm sure we can assume Dendy will be gone too.
If you feel the need to verify this information (which I wouldn't blame you as this is my first post) you may call or stop in at Ames PD and ask to review to police log for that day. IIRC the incident was at 300 Stanton Ave 3rd floor... Think it was around 0130 Saturday

Just b/c Dendy's ID was ran, doesn't mean he was part of the problem. They might run both not knowing exactly what was going down.
Well, I am going to assume that LaRon was at the very least a witness as the officers were told by dispatch BOLO (be on look out) for a "LaRon Dendy and a Charles Boozer" Sure enough they were both located by officers and had thier names ran by Ames P.D. Also, Ames P.D. estimated that there were 30-40 people at the "party" yet ONLY Charles, LaRon and the female victim had their names ran by the officers....
As I said, this may be 100% unrelated to why Charles left the team.
