that was horrible. I'm glad they caught the guys. I don't live too far from there and saw some of the chase (police cars flying around) on my way to work this morning.Hopefully the flood coverage doesn't completely cover up the shooting this morning.
Glad you are safe man. I'm pretty sure it is gang-related as I know some of the teenagers involved.that was horrible. I'm glad they caught the guys. I don't live too far from their and saw some of the chase on my way to work this morning.

I'm not sure which version they are promoting now, but at one point, the walls would be a retractable type that would relatively fit in with the current landscaping. I'm not sure how they would cover the roads.
My father was the City Engineer in Hannibal, Missouri in the early '90s when he had their flood wall built. It finished just in time to be used in the massive Flood of '93. He quit after the City Council complained about the cost of the gates despite it having saved their town from being nearly wiped off the map.Richmond, VA has one of the more elaborate flood wall systems I've ever seen, complete with retractable gates at a number of crossings. Most areas of the flood wall are park like settings, and some with walkways across the top of the flood walls. Google "Richmond Flood Wall" and you'll see some good pictures of the gates.

I hope everyone out there is safe and make it through this OK.
I have an acquaintance that had a dumb rant on FB yesterday. She works at Old McDonald's farm at Beaver Park and was disgusted at how many people had come through this week. A whopping 17 people had the audacity to come through while others were potentially losing their homes and businesses. Was tempted to respond with something along the lines of "if we all tries to help nothing would get done due to gridlock and what the heck do you want us to do? All sit twiddling our thumbs waiting for it to be over?" But I unfriended her instead.
Ha, typical government goons. Should have thanked their lucky stars .
Maybe it would have caused too much congestion downtown with school going. Don't forget the hundreds and hundreds of parents taking kids to school themselves.Amazing how the USPS was able to continue running their trucks and deliver mail during the floods, but the CR school district couldn't figure out how to run the buses.

The delays would have been insane. Here was the look of Edgewood at Ellis yesterday right outside where the busses are kept.
Wilson and 380 Yup
Woops you're right, Wilson was the exit I've been taking to get everywhere essentially.Wilson doesn't cross the river so it was 380 or 30.
