Carston Marshall Commits!

mods please merge with the mike rose commits thread.
Fun Fact: The original "Mike Rose" recruit was Chase Pine. He was a 3/4 star 6'4" 220lb OLB who signed with Pittsburg. I was EXTREMELY upset when we didn't land him because I loved his length and athleticism.

Now we only recruit those guys.... I love it.

I'd be interested in seeing you rank the class if you had time. Love your insight

I can definitely do that. It may take a while, but I can make a thread that I build on.
For my ratings, I probably won't do stars because basically every dude in the class is a 3 star by most sites. I'll come up with my own ratings system with tages to denote things like "Instant Starter" and "Freak" and other attributes. Note every "Mike Rose Clone" is a clone of Mike Rose.
I'll work on it.

Great idea. I think most of us are tired of hearing the "stars" argument from people who haven't even bothered to watch film or dive deeper into the commit. Looking forward to the write up! Appreciate your work

I know its kind of homerish to just say you trust the coaching staff but until these guys prove otherwise, I'm all in on any kid they bring in.

He'd have to look at every other recruit at every other school and recruting isn't nearly over. I can't think of a worse nightmare than to try to rank moving targets. It would be worthless.

It's really all you can do. Particularly this year.

This method would work.

Can’t we get these guys later in the recruiting cycle? It’s not like we are trying to beat out D-1 teams for them. Again, not impressed with this class at all.
Is Matt Campbell aware that his first priority in recruiting is supposed to be to impress you? Someone send him a memo!

I’m sure he’ll be crushed to know that you are disappointed.

1. We have no choice but to trust Campbell is bringing in the right guys.

2. All of these guys will receive additional offers and a boost in their rating before this process is over.

3. It's still ok to be nervous. We all believed Rhoads had an eye for talent and we gave him the benefit of the doubt for bringing in Knott and Klein. Then he brought in Kane Seely and Jehvon Miller and we became terrible.

What CMC says in public if asked about this thread: We understand that fans love recruits with many stars and bigger offers. I wish it was that easy. We have to consider other things like the players' character, their projected improvement over 4-5 years, position needs, do they fit well in our locker room, and are they going to be a great teammate.
What CMC wants to say:

Or maybe thatś what I want to say!

You have to understand that we have a long history of recruiting players no one else wanted. We also have a long history of losing. People are going to be impatient and frustrated with these type of recruits. Thats just the way it is and it really has nothing to do with Campbell or what we/they think of him as a coach.
