Carston Marshall Commits!

Honest question: do these so called 'experts' actually review tape, evaluate competition, interview coaches. Or, as I suspect, do they ride the coat tails of coaches offers. "Hey! Matt Campbell just offered this guy. Let's bump him up." Just curious.

Rivals won't rate a guy above a 2-star unless/until they either see him in person (best way) or watch video highlights. And I think multiple Rivals guys have to do one or the other before they assess a ranking. They CLAIM that they don't let who offers influence their decisions, but obviously, if a kid has 30 high profile offers and they've rated him a 3-star, they will take a second look at him to see if a boost is warranted.

It’s nearly impossible for a recruiting service to cover everyone. Do you know how many states there are? Now many cities in each state? How many HS’s in each city? How many players on each team? There’s a reason why there’s a lot of 0-2 star players in the NFL, it’s impossible to rank everyone. And on top of that, if you run a certain system not everyone is going to fit it. Players fit systems differently. That’s why you see free agency busts in the NFL.

This year is extremely tough because they didn't have camps last summer...
