Is Kingsbury really going to get the axe? Guess I haven't heard a whole lot of talk about him on the hot seat. And yes, all but those three jobs would be better than NU. Arkansas is a toss up IMO.

I'm not sure what kind of leash the AD is giving KK, but if they finish below .500 this year it will be the first time they have had back-to-back losing seasons since 1984-1985. They sit at 4-5 now with home games against Baylor and TCU and a road game at TX. Seeing them going 0-3 or 1-2 in their last three games seems more likely than any other result.

Also, Kingsbury is already the proud owner of two of Tech's three worst seasons since 1990 (Tuberville also finished 5-7 back in 2011). They may not have overly high expectations and this would not be a good year to try to find a replacement with all of the other openings, but it's still football in the state of Texas.

also, apparently Tennessee doesn't want Chip Kelly as most think, 1) he doesn't want to recruit, 2) he is a "West Coast" guy (the South is still the South) and 3) they are afraid he will take whatever NFL job comes open.

Keep hearing Mike Leach is in play here, although I doubt he goes SEC as he wouldn't be a culture fit. The new President and him don't see eye to eye. Maybe Arkansas if you squint hard enough, they did hire Bobby Patrino.

The new AD was brought in to fire Reilly the day after the season is over. I would be surprised if the new coach isn't announced a day later.

Apparently Jim Levitt is the favorite here, maybe Sean gets it. I remember this past year, supposedly Levitt was taking the job, the AD fubared it for whatever reason, Bill stayed. This was all after the cancer scare, so who knows. I still just love that Kevin Keitzmann cost KState Gary Patterson. What a boner.

Les is 63 right now. I still think he'd be a great hire for Nebraska. Better than they deserve honestly.

I don't see Nebraska fans and boosters accepting a hire from lowly Toledo. Though Candle seems like he's got a bright future ahead of him.

When Synder left the first time, Gary Patterson who is a Kstate grad and is from small town Kansas, had agreed to take the KSU job. This was before TCU was in the Big 12 so it was an upgrade of a job. His only caveat was that he wanted to tell his team and administration at TCU before the news broke.

Anyway, Kietzmann and the guy from GoPowerCat.com got wind of this before he was able to do that and went public with it. Gary Patterson was so pissed he called off the deal and is still the coach at TCU, thus the rush to hire Ron Prince.

Kietzmann is a huge ass. He once tried to fight my dad on our front lawn because my sister plastic forked his yard (they were our neighbors and my sister went to HS with his kid). It was funny.

*Keitzmann owns 810 radio in Kansas City for those of you who don't know.

I think Bohl would be good hire. He's got the Nebraska pedigree and won huge at NDSU. But there's probably a reason he ended up at Wyoming instead of a bigger program. And I doubt Nebraska fans will be impressed by last years 8-6 season.

Les Miles has a National Championship win and played in another National Championship game. His main foil at LSU was having to play Alabama once and sometimes twice a year.

No idea who they'll get, but it probably wont be their first choice.

Thank you @thatguy I had no idea about the Patterson story. I used to listen to 810 a ton. You'd think they would have heard about the deal with Patterson wanting to tell everyone if they heard he was going to be the next coach. LOL!

Any way with all the potential openings and Nebraska becoming an afterthought they will most likely get their 10th choice out of the deal and tell us that Paul Rhoads was their number one choice the whole time.

While I think Bohl would be an excellent hire, it also would expose the hypocrisy of the "through these gates pass the greatest fans in college football" folks. They ran Bohl out when he was D coordinator.

He was the sacrificial lamb after the 2002 season, which started with a top 10 ranking only to finish 4th in the BigXII North. Solich had to fire someone to save his job and Craig Bohl was the lucky man out.

Bo was hired as D coordinator the next year on the 9 win campaign that got Solich fired, but Bo's D was impressive enough to land him the head gig a few years later. Himself getting fired after 7 consecutive 9+ win seasons.

What UNL would give for a 9 win season this year...
