Can we talk about Nebraska?...

I still kind of think Bielema gets fired at Arkansas and ends up at Nebraska. His go-tee and BMI will fit in well with that fan base.

I don't see how Bielema survives that one point win vs. Coastal Carolina who, if memory serves, is in the ESPN Bottom 10. I hope you're right and he lands in Lincoln.

I think there would be a meltdown of biblical proportions if NU hires anyone other than Saban, Meyer or Frost. I just don't see how they would accept someone that was just fired.

Frost is going to get offered all the money to take the Florida job. Mullen might take it, which would open Frost up in theory, but everyone will be on him. Which is a way better job than Nebby. I think Bielema could win 9 games at Nebby, but that will get you fired there, so who knows.

Jobs that are probably coming open (or are open) other than Nebby:

Tennessee
Florida
Arkansas
Oregon St
Ole Miss

Jobs that might come open:
Oregon
UCLA
Texas A and M
Texas Tech
Auburn
Mizzou

How many of those jobs are better than NU? All except Mizzou, Oregon St and Tech?

Well, I guess they could keep Reilly? It'll be fun to see what sucker takes that job...

One could argue that all but Oregon State are better jobs (MU in the SEC & TTU in the state of Texas). Also, if Mullen moves, Miss St opens up which is also arguably a better job than UNL.

Is Kingsbury really going to get the axe? Guess I haven't heard a whole lot of talk about him on the hot seat. And yes, all but those three jobs would be better than NU. Arkansas is a toss up IMO.

I could see Chip Kelly taking the Tennessee job or going back to Oregon. Les Miles is in play here somewhere, but he isn't going to take a rebuilding job. Rich Rodriguez at Arizona could probably be had, but he failed so fantastically at Michigan he might be tainted. I really think Nebby waits a year because there are going to be so many jobs open. Plus the new AD can give the line, "well, I need to evaluate, and that takes time"

I bet Nebby fans could talk themselves into Art Briles.
Of course. You are talking about the same fan base that was ok with:

Letting a felon play after being convicted of armed robbery of a gas station, going on to be Heisman winner.

The Peter brothers

Lawrence phillips

Outwardly covet for head coach the guy who hide in the closet while Lawrence phillips did his Lawrence phillips things.

The new AD was brought in to fire Reilly the day after the season is over. I would be surprised if the new coach isn't announced a day later.

How great is it that a small town Nebraska kid who was QB on a national championship team won't take the Husker job. Too bad it won't humble that fan base whatsoever

What would really amuse me would be if they tried to hire Coach Cambell and he wouldn't even talk to them. We of course would never hear about that, but what a blow to their ego that would be...

I think Kansas St might open up as well. I feel like Snyder may retire. If not after this season, next season for sure. Not that it is a great job....it's only good BECAUSE of Snyder.

I have a pretty good feeling Sean gets the KSU job. Possibly one of the scenarios where Bill steps down a week prior to the first game next year and Sean "fills in" for the year, aka - a trial season.

Apparently Jim Levitt is the favorite here, maybe Sean gets it. I remember this past year, supposedly Levitt was taking the job, the AD fubared it for whatever reason, Bill stayed. This was all after the cancer scare, so who knows. I still just love that Kevin Keitzmann cost KState Gary Patterson. What a boner.
