I heard some of Leach's comments. I wouldn't want the guy. Ruffin McNeill, in his comments, made sure that he emphasized that he loved kids and would make sure that they were treated right if he got the HC at Tech. There is more to this than you might think. And Leach's comments toward the James kid that I heard were backhanded and childish. I would stay away from Leach.

Well of course, what would he say right now? Treatment of players is a hot button for Tech right now - so he's going to play to that.

No different that political races - when the national deficit was all that people talked about, candidates had master plans of how to eliminate it. Now it's jobs and getting troops home - so they harp on that.

I think McNeil will make a great coach, he just was playing into the "I'll be the good guy to your kids" thing very hard, as he should if he wants the job.

As for Leach coming here, obviously it won't be as HC. But if the guy would be interested in an OC position, I'd gladly take him and either find a different spot for Herman or bid him farewell. No brainer.

I think Ruffin has virtually no shot at the HC for Tech. He will be option #5 or so. I think Houston's coach has to be on the short list. Knows Texas, used to work at Tech.
