Cameron Lard Thread

Last year at this time our projected line-up for this year included McKay, Williams, Niang, Long and Morris. Our bench was going to be our deepest ever with Thomas, Burton, Nader and Cooke. Not to mention Tsalmpouris and Custer who were going to make huge strides over the summer and challenge for significant playing time. The biggest worry was how would Fred possibly fit all those guys (plus probably a 5th year transfer) into the playing rotation.

Oops.

So what you are saying is we are due for a great off season!

If the staff needs another scholarship or 2, they'll find them.

Last year Tsalmpouris, Custer and SDW left, Williams and Niskowiak didn't show.
The previous year Gibson and Bluford left, Amardi didn't show.
Before that Sledge, Okoro, Phillips - on and on.
It's been several years since we haven't had at least 2 players leave.

That's probably true for most college programs.

It's fine if you don't follow it regularly, I won't judge. Thank God the staff isn't content with going into next year without someone to play the 5 next year like you are though.
Then why did they get Ernst or Carter or Malou or Lard?

You do realize not everyone starts right? And that Carter and Ernst(before being shut down) can't crack a depth deprived front court rotation.

Yes players improve, but going from can't crack the rotation when there are minutes to give to Big12 starter are slim to none.

You're really making my head hurt.

Any word on Lard?

I doubt we get any word until May or later... The staff will access his acedemic standing and see where the scholarship chart is at. It'll be pretty clear on the potential of him joining the roster by the staff recruitment of multiple posts in the spring or not.

Seems like just about everyone who is in the know has zero expectation of this guy landing here next year. Chance that he goes juco and then ends up at ISU later.

He's probably not going to make it but I doubt we will know officially until May 18th which is the spring signing day.

Did he ever get to play this year? To my knowledge....he did not. I believe that he was not allowed to play due to tampering regarding his high school transfer. I have never seen it related to academics, although there seems to be wide speared speculation that he has poor grades.
