Cameron Lard Thread

I do think that theyll get a SR eligible big and if not a JUCO like Bol. My guess:

PG: Morris
SG: Jackson
SF: Thomas
PF: Malou
C: transfer

Naz, Babb, Burton, Ernst and Carter coming off the bench. That's a good team.

Don't see any way that Naz doesn't start unless he's not 100%.

Last year at this time our projected line-up for this year included McKay, Williams, Niang, Long and Morris. Our bench was going to be our deepest ever with Thomas, Burton, Nader and Cooke. Not to mention Tsalmpouris and Custer who were going to make huge strides over the summer and challenge for significant playing time. The biggest worry was how would Fred possibly fit all those guys (plus probably a 5th year transfer) into the playing rotation.

Oops.

This is my hope as well.

To the people who say Malou can't and won't be our 5. What is your reasoning behind that? He and McKay are basically the same size. Malou hadn't been playing on the perimeter as much as he did at ABCD. I thought he was a SF too and then I watched a bunch of his games this year and he's spent most of his time posting up.

I agree.

Big guys typically improve a great deal going into year two. I'm not saying he's going great next year, but I think it's reasonable to think he can be serviceable and play a lot of minutes.

Yeah he has a ton of upside and with hard work and coaching he can definitely develop into a contributor next year.

Who would transfer? Naz will get his redshirt. I guess we'll find out if Lard will make it soon.

No clue, no point speculating either. The staff is going to go all out on a grad transfer big this Spring, they've said as much. They know they will have a scholarship available.

I'd be shocked if Ashton was on scholarship, I think that is pretty clear itself and someone will transfer out or won't be eligible.
I would have agreed with you a couple weeks ago, but I'm not so confident now. If he continues playing 10 minutes per game and providing a decent contribution, how can you possibly take his scholarship away?

He came here as a walk on. He was told he'd get a scholarship this year because we had one available. We kicked out a player who signed his LOI with ISU to make room for Kane. Taken away a scholarship from a walk on isn't that big of a deal

You have a link?

People who seem familiar with the situation think Thik Bol is a back up option in case we miss out on a grad transfer big. I'm sure there is a tweet out there that ISU is going after a transfer big but I really don't feel like looking it up

So it's just speculation

Yep, you're 100% right and the coaches can't see what's right in front of their faces. They're totally content with starting Ernst or Carter or a true freshman and they're not even going to pursue a grad transfer post.

Use a little common sense. These coaches know exactly what they need for next season to be a success.
