Cameron Lard Eligible at Semester?

With all signs pointing to the opposite, I'm wondering where this comes from?

For the record, if he adds something to a spot that is sorely lacking, I'm all for playing him.

Has anything like this ever worked out for ISU? And if he was indeed eligible, he would already be in Ames working out with the team.

Surprised how many people are thinking a freshman is going to step on campus and immediately contribute during the Big 12 regular season. It was hard for guys like Burton and Mckay to do it, and they had the benefit of practicing for a year and had legit experience.

Well you obviously haven't been paying attention.Carter last year, and now Solomon Young, are our best players because they are tall but yet the coach never plays them.

To be fair, the fact that the bar is set so low right now due to the underachieving front court guys ahead of Lard gives him an outside chance. But that's only one half of the equation. Prohm is not going to throw the kid out there just because hey, how much worse can he be? Lard's going to have to earn Prohm's trust, and considering how hard it is to not only make the leap from AAU or high school ball to Big 12 ball but to do it on an accelerated schedule, it'll be an uphill battle for him.

I guess I'm taking a wait and see approach. If he practices well and Prohm feels like he's earned PT, great. If he's raw as hell and not ready to help this year, well, he can contribute next year and no harm done.

I don't think he should play right away, but hasn't he been playing some with a JuCo down south while finishing up his academics? Or am I just completely making that up?

Fiction. It was a tiny minority that wanted Carter to play more. He was a trainwreck on D last year to anyone watching.

Young is way better than Carter, and is playing significantly more.
